What hard parts would you like to see available for 80s?

something I've been interested in but haven't taken the time to do... replace all exposed OEM screws and bolts with stainless. Basically any bolt or screw that is not in the cab or engine compartment... I couldn't say how many jobs have required double the effort due to stuck/rusty bolt heads, and I hate it when rusty screws 'bleed' onto other parts.

If someone were to take the time to identify the size and quantity of all required hardware to do this, I personally would be willing to pay for the convenience of ordering a kit including all the hardware, or even just a consolidated list of all the hardware so I could buy it myself.

@txgringo Stainless and grade 8+ are terms that don't go together. You can have rust prevention (assuming they aren't Chinese) or you can have strength. Gotta pick one then work your way backwards. FWIW I've never had a rusty bolt or component so it's hard for me to fully appreciate what you are experiencing.

Point taken on strength vs. stainless. Hadn't thought of it in those terms. Rusty nuts (pun intended) is more of an issue for me being in the salt belt. It's not so much an issue for me in my 2 current 80's as they were both TX trucks until recently and I keep them clean and protected. Another 80 which I owned for a while had been on the road here in Milwaukee for quite a while, and working on it really sucked. When I pulled the grill, headlights, etc. last week to replace the radiator on one of my current 80's, all of the screws that hold all the grill and light trim in place had quite a bit of rust on them. The turn signal screws are stainless, and they were clean as a whistle.

Maybe I just need to get out and measure all of the screws/bolts where strength is not such a concern and build a list from that.... Damn it, another to-do item when I was trying to cross one off!!!

WD40 rust penetrant spray works wonders on rusty bolts. Ask me how I know...

For those of us that have changed our LX450 headlights to DEPO headlights. We have to change the Lexus grill to a Landcruiser grill. The new grills have a molded Toyota Symbol behind the chrome Toyota emblem.
It would be nice to have a bolt up Lexus emblem that also covers up the Toyota emblem that is molded into the new grill. I have seen some people cut out their own material that accomplishes this, but it would be nice to hit the paypal button and be done with it.

I want a unit that can house and mount a radio between the sun visors.

Have any experience with body lifts?...:bounce::hmm:

Seems a bit vain to me.

Let's see, a new-product wish list...

Well, some things that could be made for  or :banana: folks from cut and stamped metal are: preformed tabs to mount things like overhead racks to the grab handle bolts, tabs to mount things like fire extinguishers, rifle racks, and such to the rear seatbelt bolts, tabs to mount D-rings or just made to accept ratchet strap hooks for the rear seat mounting bolts and somewhere near the tailgate or c-pillar(pet peeve), tabs for mounting stuff in front of the front seat bases(n/m, see you already got those), a bracket to give a flat mounting spot behind the console that used maybe the hinge bolts on top and the rear seat mounting bolts or something else on bottom, something useful to put in the dash pocket space(don't want a cupholder there and missed out on the Gamviti switch panels), brackets to mount some kind of readily available arm rests to the factory seats, gutter mount clamps for LED lightbars, gutter mount clamps for other lights and antennas, precut and formed repair/bracing plates with threaded holes for fixing and bracing up the factory roof racks, maybe clamp-on bumper tabs for mounting lights so you don't have to drill holes in your bumper, a purpose-built toolbox or whatever bracket to fit in the underhood space on the opposite side from the battery(wouldn't mind an actual real weathersealed bolt-in toolbox purpose-built for right there actually), exhaust heatshields that don't crack at the mounting bolts, and I'm sure there's a ton more stuff as well.

In heavier bending, a guard for the front locker actuator(slee has the rear one covered), some type of guard for the steering stabilizer, better lower shock mount guards, premade weld-on LCA mount guards, premade weld or bolt-on LCA braces/skids/guards, a better guard for the front diff(bolt-on if possible), better(or better looking at least) tow loop/tie downs that fit the factory bolt holes and maybe add a third bolt for added strength. Again, lots of odds and ends there.

And there's the 'accessories for the accessories' stuff too- extra mounting plates to put stuff on ARB/Slee/Ironman/TJM bumpers, roof racks, and so on.

And if you need a beta-tester for the underhood toolbox thingie my truck is a late-model 95, and it doesn't have to be finished or plated- raw metal will be just fine. :flipoff2:

I haven't read all 7 pages of this, but I'd like to see some "stock" type parts be more available, such as:

-clam shells for the steering column that aren't all busted up
-a REAL center console and cup holders (LX450 models would need even more cup holders)
-front bumper corners that don't depend on studs embedded in the plastic to stay in place (because the studs break loose).
-an aftermarket dash cup holder for the '95-'97 useless cubby, and and a 1-DIN pull out cup holder for us '91-'94 owners.
-a diamond plate (or other style) "cover" that can be bolted on to the useless and rusty 4 holes on the back bumper to dress up the rear bumper.

@mnwolftrack for the rear bumper.
