I don't know what a profile post is either and I don't get notified if someone posts to it so better to PM me.
I worked for about a month or more on making a bracket. The crux of the problem is the new large case alternator would be close to the exhaust manifold and exhaust heat. I did not feel comfortable with how close it would be. It might work or the alternator might have a short life because of the heat. I did come up with a solution that I felt would be OK. The stock alternator is mounted to the top motor mount. The larger alternator will work if a new top motor mount is made. The reason I quit was I felt there would not be very many people willing to jack the motor up and replace the motor mount just to do an alternator upgrade. I did it and it is not a fun job. Second to make this type of mount I would have to buy a large and expensive piece of steel - read commitment. This is only one side or mount of the alternator. An adjustable bracket would have to be made for the other mount. Lastly, if using an alternator like one from a Sequoia, a pulley would have to be made. The Sequoia pulley has a poly vee pulley while the 3fe has a groove pulley. I can't remember now if the stock pulley could be re-machined to work or not. Anyway, the whole thing would be a rather expensive project.
There may be other ways of making something work using a different alternator etc. In 2004 I made a mount for a Delco alternator on the fzj and posted it up. It got one reply because no one wanted to put a non Toyota part on.
