Interested. In the picture, it looks to be some kind of flat mounting plate? Any more pics?

Wow, must be interested :flipoff2:

No pictures I want to show yet because I don't have finished pieces. I've already worked out everything its going to be and all of the metal has been cut, formed and welded. Along with all of the goodies that go along with it. I had to hold off since the influx of these silly gull wing windows have sprung up and meant I had to make some minor changes before they became issues. :flipoff2:

Is it an auxiliary cooling system for your motor?!?!?! :flipoff2:

Sorry bro, someone had to say it. You do realize that even when you get it figured out, you will never live this down. You will always be known as "Joey with the high temp thread"...

Yeah yeah ... tapatalk is slow and ... :flipoff2:

Looking forward to seeing what this product shapes into!

Well just so you guys can see that its further along than you may expect. There are "components" to it and some are ready and some are not. ;)

Oh man you are sooo close :flipoff2:

Oh until its 100% solved I'm still the "idiot Joey won't listen to smart advice when given...thread, guy"

My interest is peaked! Is it a spot for a power inverter for one of these to go on your front bumper?!?!

Sorry, better get back on topic. Don't want this to get move to Chit Chat.

Seriously, curious to see what you do back there. I was thinking it's a good spot for a fire extinguisher (especially with the side window access from LCP).

I don't know what a profile post is either and I don't get notified if someone posts to it so better to PM me.

I worked for about a month or more on making a bracket. The crux of the problem is the new large case alternator would be close to the exhaust manifold and exhaust heat. I did not feel comfortable with how close it would be. It might work or the alternator might have a short life because of the heat. I did come up with a solution that I felt would be OK. The stock alternator is mounted to the top motor mount. The larger alternator will work if a new top motor mount is made. The reason I quit was I felt there would not be very many people willing to jack the motor up and replace the motor mount just to do an alternator upgrade. I did it and it is not a fun job. Second to make this type of mount I would have to buy a large and expensive piece of steel - read commitment. This is only one side or mount of the alternator. An adjustable bracket would have to be made for the other mount. Lastly, if using an alternator like one from a Sequoia, a pulley would have to be made. The Sequoia pulley has a poly vee pulley while the 3fe has a groove pulley. I can't remember now if the stock pulley could be re-machined to work or not. Anyway, the whole thing would be a rather expensive project.
There may be other ways of making something work using a different alternator etc. In 2004 I made a mount for a Delco alternator on the fzj and posted it up. It got one reply because no one wanted to put a non Toyota part on.

Bill (found your name tied to some other posts), THANK YOU for this detail. My guess is those on this thread asking for said bracket now at least have something more to really think about......as does the OP if he was seriously considering this. Thx again!

Bracket that fits under the rear view mirror mount so I can have a place to attach my altimeter rather than screwing up my dash

A small-ish mounting surface in the engine compartment---passenger side near the firewall / cruise control box area. Like for an air compressor.

Yes, people are going to say the heat will kill it...the ARB compressor seems to live in engine compartments fine :flipoff2:

I've always love Knex. How about an exoskel that was made out of prefabbed Knex so you could make it to your liking. Order the size and lengths you want, bolt them together and voila.

As long as we're throwing out wish lists...

1) Brackets to mount something useful to replace third row upper seat belt housing (since so many of us remove the third rows).
2) Storage panels (like the Wagongear 60 series panels) to replace rear side panels.

I know it is not much, but I used one of the smaller quick fist mounts to hold a maglight back there. I had to use an xacto knife to notch where the bolt meets the mount, but it works awesome and it is ready to go at a moment's notice. I even used the factory seat belt bolt!

Hey Guys, I was out of town for a few days and am just getting a look at what has been posted in the last 4-5 days. Happy to see other people are moving forward with stuff. I don't want anyone to get the false impression that I have any definite plans for producing anything. While I may do something, I am not making any false promises. This thread is kind of why I brought it up. Other people can see where the need lies and even if I don't do a single thing, I am hoping that others will latch on to something. I will go through and make a master list of parts that have been requested. From there people can add more. I am looking at ideas, I will say that I have a few and I am also going in between interviews in multiple locations at the current time. The 3FE alt. mount seems to be a big need. I am not against doing anything on that, but I don't have a 3FE so it certainly is not my top priority. Please continue the discussion.
