So I am guessing it turns out if you use a 60 series top plate you need a 60 series back up light switch?

And more importantly a 60 series shifter?

I’m guessing with my timing @RevISK has already sold his
I think so about what you need. @cruisermatt can weigh in as well.

Accomplished a lot today. Time with family.

Quite a few odds and ends. 02 bungs, fuel pump wiring, fuel.

Get it all hooked up and pushed outside. Call my 3 year old over to help. I give her a crash course in starting it while the battery is unhooked. Ask her to practice while I’m pouring fuel in. She’s ecstatic.

Hook up battery, fuel pump primes quickly.

Ok start it.. crank crank crank. Hmm. Do it again.. same.

Well 💩

She needs to potty so she runs up stairs and I grab my super duper basic code reader. No engine RPM cranking. After a Quick Look I diagnose the fact I never plugged the crank sensor in. Plug it in, and wait for her to get back.

Ok I tell her let’s try again.

She hits the key and this is the screen grab some the video.

Safe to say it runs and that’s a huge step forward. Went to dinner came back home and hit the key. Boom started like a brand new one. Man I love the LS world.

So many little ends to tie up. So many big pieces of the puzzle left. But I can see the light.

You’ve got the parenting a 3yo down to a science. Give them a job to do.

Well done- excited to see you back on the road soon.

yes you'll definietly want a 60 shifter handle. I should have an extra. should have new reverse light switches in stock too

I assume the 60 reverse switch works opposite of a 40? Normally open instead of normally closed?

Also if you have a shifter do you have any of the boots left you were trying to sell recently?

Thanks Matt

Yes plenty

Thursday evening I had the big kids help me bleed the clutch.
Full clutch release is easy with the single circuit master cyl.

Last night I finished up my intake. I really didn’t want to use a cone filter but here I am being lazy.

List is shrinking.
I could drive it around the hood if I shifted with a screwdriver..

Pictures don’t want to post. Oh well.

See if picture will load now.

Another day. Another setback,

I got my shifter today from Matt (thanks again for sending quickly!)

It appears as I’m missing a tapered flange on my aluminum top plate for the 4 speed (60 series).

My shifter is currently stuck in the trans (again) and I can’t get it out with the family sleeping as it requires a hammer tap tap.

Picture of cast iron is my old top plate. Aluminum picture is internet.

My currently aluminum top plate does not have the ball taper at the base of the shifter tower. It just has a flat flange.

Does anyone know if this can’t be removed from the aluminum housings? And if so where I can find one?

This is the only thing holding me up from driving my rig at this point. Don’t tempt me to put the old top plate on and hack up a shifter and trans tunnel.
