Northern Arizona Trails

Cruising around with family around E. AZ-What did I see? A white rig at the end of a trail. Mine is on the right, his 1994 rig was pretty incredible!!

Mostly here in SSF....Where are you located?

Well, well, well... We're neighbors! I'm just in San Bruno, is your rig white and you drive to the airport in the morning? I see that rig a lot and as you know, it is not a usual sight to see a bad as# modified 4x4 (especially TLC) rig around here...

put the bling air louver sunroof windcatcher watchamacallit thingy on it.

Finally got to steel it away from the wife for the week end. Took a short expedition out to the Grand Canyon Toroweap look out. Passing the ranger station, the ranger stopped me to ask a few questions and make sure we knew about the fire restrictions. She was also going to warn us about the rough road ahead, but then stepping back and looking at the 80 series she said "I can see you are well equiped." :D Pictures are at our camp site on Mt. Logan, Az.

Been there...make sure its your booster and not just check valve/grommet. Could just be loosing all your vacuum assist from a bad valve/grommet. Hopefully!

Thanks for the tip...no such luck though, check valve checked out with a quick test at the other end of the vac hose.

Yanked the old one out last night using the tips here on Mud, new/reman Cardone one should be here this morning while I exercise the credit card. Taking the silver lining approach since I can sort of see the bottom of the EGR tube now to put in my block off plates too.

I got the oil changed, tires rotated, fluids checked and topped off. Replaced a brake light bulb, installed a K&N air filter, and put a bottle of Lucas fuel treatment in the gas tank. Ready for trail ride this Friday!

I got to talk cruisers with my dentist this morning. My dentist always used to ask me about my Tahoe and my old K5 Jimmy, but I sold the Tahoe last winter (the Jimmy has been gone for a long time) and got my 80. It turns out that both of the dentists in the office have cruisers (100 series and an FJ Cruiser) so we talked about that a little bit. He just got back from Moab a couple weeks ago too. Not sure he is a convert to rock crawling yet though - he went in a friend's Jeep.

/Coincidentally I got my LC from a dentist too.

Finally was able to grab the 65 out of storage.... great day for a drive along the Mississippi.

Hey neighbor (I am in MPLS) it's been forever since we finally get some nice weather here right?!! I am off to the Chequamegon National Forest for a long weekend. Nice rig!

Fixed my D light

Hit some washboard with a little too much speed and >SHAZAAM!< my D light works! This, after several years of smacking the top of the dash.

Just Rhino line the hood....I did it and love it!

Thanks. I will keep it in mind. How hard is it to clean the Rhino liner? The Linex liner in my Tundra was very difficult to clean.

Easiest thing to clean. If I really need to clean my roof and hood which are both Rhino lined, I just grab a brush and scrub then hose it down.

Well, with the help of forums I think I fixed my pesky parking brake light problem - my brake fluid was low. However, now I'm a little POed with my local garage, who told me that they checked all my fluids when they changed my oil and rotated my tires TODAY!

Got mud and water where one shouldn't get mud and water. Now it's time for an extreme detail! Wonder if I should upgrade the fuel pump while I'm in there. On a side note does anyone know if its possible to bypass the TVSS if it gives you trouble?

I also went out to Kakwa falls (my first time! Absolutely amazing!).
The waters were down quite a bit by the time the river crossings were down quite a bit by the time I went, or the 35s help keep me dry :steer:

Took my '95 over 260K. Feels like she's ready for another 260.

Also, took my '97 to Surprise Lake and let the kiddos swim a bit. No better way to beat the heat.

Replaced both the turn signal and brake light fuses :meh:

For whatever reason, both of them blew right after I placed an order at the BK drive-thru :hhmm:

Right when I was about to pull up to the window, I realized I couldn't get it out of park

Had a bunch of hungry people lined up behind me, so I panicked for a minute, then scrambled through my glove box for a screw driver, popped the cap for the gear selector safety bypass and was able to get her out of park

Installed new fuses when I got back to the shop and everything works fine again, but I'm pretty sure the cause was from my Hoppy harness :hhmm:

I had been driving through deep flood waters over the past few weeks and the Hoppy is ziptied somewhere in the x-member, so I'll be tearing the wiring apart this weekend to make sure the box isn't fubar'd :meh:

Soooo this was weekend before last. Got mixed up as to which hot tub was the 80-safe one, and which was not. This was not. :o

I managed to back out of it, since I couldn't get going enough to get forward momentum (owing to the LC's rear overhang). Crunched my rear bumper a bit on the left.

Earlier on the descent into Hell's Gate. Fun standing on the pedals on the way down.

Here's a fairly low drama ascent up Hell's Gate. Even though the right tire lifts 3-4 feet 3/4 of the way up, it didn't feel too backwardsishly tippy.

I guess this is the black hole?

Great pics
