Might be a couple weeks til I can get the trip report up. Life and stuff...

But it's primarily forest road 1S12. It starts in Coulterville, and ends in Foresta, but you can pick it up south of Hardin Flat, which is what we did. The trail is easy but very beautiful.

Haven't done much with the 80 as of late. But, did pick up this over the weekend. So now I can dump the running boards on my 80 and keep a few miles off her.

Nice! I have an IS250 MT for my daily driver. Makes short work of my commute. My running boards are still in my truck tho cause I need them to get in!

I love Blitz Black. I'm going to repaint my custom plate bumper with it.

I also discovered that it's a nearly perfect match for the tone of black used on VW interior plastics (including the 'soft touch' rubber coated plastics that always peel).

So my GTI is sporting an aftermarket stereo with trim surround that looks factory.

Really ... interesting , wife drives a VW ... I didn't noticed , i'll check it out tomorrow and retouch the peels , just loved the blitz black , and decided to go monstaliner the exterior maybe in a couple of weeks

That's odd. I've never heard of it and I've spent a lot of time in coulterville. I was there this weekend. Ill have to check it out.

Adjusted Steering nut to get rid of the play in steering wheel and lowered the LSPV, now I have good brakes and tight steering!

If only my little guy is a bit older I can take him out in the cruiser on dirt instead of tinkering with it.

Howdy! Got kinda bored, so I decided to make tail light lenses out of candle wax. Looked pretty good, but did not hold up to the heat very well.

Good guess, but wrong. Actually was an exhaust problem. I had been wheeling in the rocks all day and unknown to me, I bent the last few inches of my tailipe upward enough that the exhaust was getting trapped in the right rear corner of my Slee bumper. Back on the hiway, with enough throttle on the uphills, the heat was enough to melt the plastic. It was trying to excape between the tailgate and the body, so all the plastic melted and ran down into my latch. I could not get the tailgate to open. Had to chip it out with a screwdriver. The heat was bad enough that it even ran forward along the side wing of the bumper and melted the bottom of my flair a bit. It also melted a bit of my trailer harness wire, so that grounded out and popped my dash light fuse. Time to Trim The Tailpipe. John

Spent the day wrenching and got some maintenance done. Belts, Hoses, PHH, flushed the coolant, upgraded to a 2.2 kW starter and 150A alternator with the Photoman bracket. Spent the most time trying to get new factory belts over the alt pulley . Word of advice to anyone making this upgrade: get slightly longer belts, maybe an inch or so, definitely worth it.

Haven't done much to the truck lately aside from finish painting the wheels. I think I'm burned out after the HG job. Need to just enjoy the truck for a bit. So that's what I did this weekend. Took a short camping trip to a new campsite I was told about. Such a cool spot! The trail leading to the site is a little rough so it keeps out a lot of people. Definitely need a 4x4 to make back up the hill.

Here's the site as I was the first to arrive. Check out the cup holders cut into the bench
