Finally got my recirculating coolant heater installed, I had originally bought this for my Surf but never got around to installing it before it was written off.

Went snow wheelin, and had to pull out my friends fj80 with my 4runner

NLXTACY, You never finished your drawers? I remember they were going to be bad ass!

Hehe. I have most of the parts I collected. I started it but the wifey put a stop to it. She didn't want to lose the use of the 3rd seats forever. That may change this coming spring/summer. It's fine. It gave me more time to figure chit out.

Found the way to Blackwater Bay via some trails on Eglin AFB with some buddies. Past a few casualties of war along theh way. J/K

Removed my busted rear third...spider gears are toast. Here's a few pics of what I found.

I think I'll be throwing in an Aussie, instead of just replacing the spider gears. I knew I could find a silver lining in this! ;)

Got a good deal on some stock wheels so I put them on. I want to paint them a different color but its too cold for the paint to cure correctly right now. Then went to the local offroad park with my friend and his brother.

The CD changer in the LX was busted when I bought it, and anyway, who uses CDs anymore? Most of the stereos I liked we're expensive (a double DIN with nav is like $600-$1200) and I'm a cheap ass. Fortunately, Apple recently threw all the iPhone accessory makers for a loop by making a new dock connector and obsoleting all the hardware that uses the old 30 pin connector. So, I picked up a Pioneer AppRadio for $150 (usually $400-$500). This unit is basically a radio and Bluetooth handsfree stereo unless you plug in an iPhone 4/4S or iPod touch(4th gen). With the idevice attached its a music player and a nav system as well essentially allowing custom apps on the device to display on the stereo unit. It's longevity may be a problem, but if I upgrade to an iPhone 5 or later, I should be able to use my old iPhone (or buy a used iPod touch) to become a dedicated music and app player for this.

It was a tight fit but I got it all working. I retained the stock amp because setup was easier and it sounds good enough for my listening habits. While I was in there I installed the CDL switch. No pin7 mod yet.

Couple weekends ago, took our new-to-us 80 out for a first family "expedition" to the beach at Point Roberts, WA.

Wow - I've lived in Washington all my life and never knew part of Washington was in Canada. Guess I should have paid attention in school.

Lol... Its nice down there, perfect place to ship packages too!

Its quite popular with the wind surfers on windy days.

Any who I opened up my crossover from the turbo to the manifold and just like a suspected my turbo is weeping oil.... Time for a rebuild! Yay?
