Took her for a very long drive with some old friends and made some new ones

Sure does looks like it to me...the bottom tube is thick,...They are getting thinner and thinner compared to the older earlier models. 45 lbs is a dead giveaway

Thick down tubes don’t always mean e-bike. The bike you posted a picture above shows the control screen on the top tube, or at least the profile of it. The photo of this fellows bike doesn’t have that. While we don’t sell the Santa Cruz brand I have built many e-bikes as well as analog bike in the bike shop I work part time in.

The down tube on my 2025 epic is pretty thick but it’s not an e-bike. There is actually accessible storage in there.

I dunno, i like the storage design on the downtube, i am just old school like that and my Yeti is almost 10 yrs old now. Maybe i will get a ebike as i am tired of getting run off the trails by folks going backwards..

Installed new to me quad housing and side lights, with some Bluetooth headlights. Thanks @fjbj40 , these things look amazing, he refinished them to basically brand new, he works aviation and you can tell his quality.

Considered checking on a 80 series that showed up at the junkyard. Let's just say the photo from the day it hit the yard tells me it's not worth much effort as it has been stripped down already.

Yard probably pulled all the good stuff before putting it out.

nice....ewww...E-bike....
Not an e-bike, it’s a Santa Cruz Tallboy. 130mm of travel up front and 120 in the rear. The tires were a bit limiting for the Utah terrain, but it was a last minute decision to take the bike. Santa Cruz does make a few e bike models, but I haven’t gone that direction yet. Half my crew is on e-bikes, they stuff like I hardly use it and it doesn’t help out that much. BS!!!!

Now after riding out there I’m trying to figure out when I can back and get in some serious rides.

Boy this sure does bring up some very fond memories for me. I cut my teeth fly fishing on the Green back in the late '80's, picture circa 1988.

It was my first time there and it was a pretty amazing piece of water. Ive had been talking about fishing it for a while and my wife said if you dont do it this week you probably wont have time till the fall so go out and do it. We fished the A section both days, flows were low and the guide along with other guides were all saying how tough it was. I still got close to 40 fish in two days. So I was pretty happy.

All my friends are very much into mountain biking and a couple of them work in the industry (Spot Bikes, please support if you're in the market!) They've had a holier-than-thou attitude about e-bikes for years and they're actually outlawed on a lot of trails around here. But my buddy's cystic fibrosis progressed to the point he couldn't handle the climbs anymore and he switched to an e-bike and it has been a life-changing experience for him. He bikes all the time when it was totally out of the game before. IMO, perfect use case for eMTB, to level the playing field and accessibility. Other than that, it's kind of a cheat, IMO, and I'm in really bad biking shape lol. E-towny bikes though--for a lot of people that can replace owning a car altogether.
