Road tripped 5000 miles from South Carolina to California for king of the hammers hit a couple trails and the only issue was the front output seal failed on the way home had to add a bottle of gear oil every 500 miles

Finally got around to putting new tires on the 80. I went from the Yokohama Geolandar MT to the BFG KO3. I forgot what it was like having an AT tire and how quite things can be with them.

They have about 30 miles on them and so far I really like them. There is minimal difference in weight, the KO3 is less than a pound lighter.

But now onto why you reading this... pictures.

The last picture makes it look as if it is squatting in the rear but I assure you it is not.

Love my KO3s! Big improvement over the KO2 which was already a good tire. The wet weather handling is really the biggest improvement I have felt so fare. Confidence inspiring. I have them on my Tacoma right now, and I will end up throwing a set on our 80 ones we move to bigger tires.

reassembling the engine. Can't seem to find the 2 mounting bolts for the front of the head. I have all new head bolts, but the two in the front I must have misplaced. Does anyone know what size they are, or where I can get a replacement?

I can’t believe how quiet the tires are. My MT weren’t the loudest MT out there but the difference is night and day with these KO3.

I was looking at the new Falken Wild Peak AT4W but no one had them in stock. A couple reasons I was looking at them 60k mile warranty and tons of positive reviews from people that are running them locally on their Tacoma or 4Runner.

Im running 285s KO3 AT on my sequioa and they are noticeably "not true to size".

Sweet! What are the benefits of the aftermarket radius arms? Gonna be available in a long version for larger tires similar to the Deltas? 😄

Honestly I need this particular arm for my 60 to 80 coil conversion customers. It will work well for many 80 customers as well.

Benefits- Plug and play.... No caster plate modifications to the axle housing or caster correction bushes that fail prematurely. Reversal or exchange for a larger lift is easily obtained. New arms with OEM bushes vs 28-34 year old stock arms.

If the interest is there; I'll look at more options to offer.

Material for these are 4130 CrMo as well. Arm structure and bush sleeves.

Mechanically have my wife's 80 sorted. It was a basket case triple locked '94... rusty and an absolute mess. Bought "new" panels from a member here on Mud and redid the body too (Monstalined trail rig now). Runs great. BUT, getting the intermittent no crank issue (already replace the fusible link)... and the starter is fine. Seems that the dang alarm/immobilizer is the likely culprit.

Pulled the driver's seat, rolled the carpet up and removed the lower dash to pull the alarm.

Here's the Toyota part... and the chitshow that I've got to deal with...

It's either laugh it off and start planning, or roll the rig into my neighbor's pond.

Inline fuses, crimp connectors... what a mess.

1k seems like a great price point. I'm sure you'll get interest. I vote for some longer ones!

I would bet as you cut those zip ties and start pulling out the mess, you'll find maybe 5 or 6 wires that need to be repaired. They always look worse than they really are.

Really hoping for less than 1000.00. That would include arms, OEM bushes, powder coating. Hardware and install of bushes as an option.

That sounds like a much more manageable pill to swallow than your competitors price.

Ofer, Most people don’t understand the logic of the best structurally engineered mass manufactured vehicle ever designed…. By any car manufacturer in the late 20th century.

This is coming from someone who built one and destroyed it and spends all of his professional time now rebuilding and maintaining these relics of another time.

Where’s this shop? And do you only work on your own vehicles?
