Regeared my transfercase, and pulled the viscous coupler.
Yea they do. That last turn of the screw gets them.
Installed OME 850J front springs in a Lexus LX-450.
Note: front drive shaft is removed, rear tyres are chocked front and rear, Grateful Dead is playing, cold Guinness is in hand, gloves and eye protection on;
Step 1: detach steering linkage from steering box control arm side;
Step 2: remove front sway bar completely;
Step 3: slacken bolts (on rear) of front control arms;
Step 4: check temperature of Guinness;
Step 5: slacken front lug nuts;
Step 6: raise vehicle with floor jack under pumpkin. Support frame both sides aft of control arms with 3 ton jack stands;;
Step 7: support pumpkin with floor jack to relieve stress on panhard bolts;
Step 8: remove front panhard bolts and bar;
Step 9: remove front tyres;
Step 10: remove fasteners for bottom of shocks, both sides;
Step 11: remove fasteners for spring bump stops, both sides;
Step 12: remove bolts for front brake line supports, starboard side (Yankee vehicles);
Step 13: lower floor jack until mushy stock springs are floating;
Step 14: pull out mushy stock springs with bump stops;
Step 15; check temperature of Guinness;
Step 16: safely compress OME 850J springs;
Step 17: insert bump stops into new springs;
Step 18: position new springs onto bottom seat with end in position on seat;
Step 19: check temperature of Guinness;
Step 20: raise floor jack, compressing new springs, until fasteners for bottom of shocks can be engaged;
Step 21: install fasteners for spring bump stops;
Step 22: remove spring compression devices;
Step 23: install bottom shock fasteners;
Step 24: check temperature of Guinness;
Step 25: raise floor jack to align panhard bar bolts;
Step 26: install panhard bar bolts, leave bolts slack;
Step 27: check temperature of Guinness;
Step 28: reinstall brake line support fasteners;
Step 29: reinstall front tyres;
Step 30: raise vehicle with floor jack under pumpkin, remove jack stands;
Step 31: lower vehicle weight onto tyres;
Step 32: check temperature of Guinness;
Step 33: reinstall front sway bar;
Step 34: reinstall steering linkage at steering box control arm and torque, pin;
Step 35: tighten and torque rear bolts of front control arms with full vehicle weight;
Step 36: tighten and torque front panhard bolts with full vehicle weight;
Step 37: check temperature of Guinness;
Step 38: queue up Kenny Loggins "Highway to the Danger Zone";
Step 39: plan caster correction plate kit installation;
Step 40: plan steering damper kit installation;
Step 41: plan adjustable panhard bar installation.

I got chatted up at stop light about the ole girl today. I live where JDM imports are common yet the attention is still common.

What was supposed to be a 4 truck overnight trip ended up as a me with my 6 year old overnight trip. I think it was better this way.
Just completed a ton of PM on mine.
I'll go into detail later, but to record it:
326885 Miles
Changed ALL coolant hoses. Rear heater hard lines (changed upper set to 1/2" hoses) PHH, Next PHH, al heater core hoses, radiator hoses, everything.
Fresh Toyota Red coolant. I discovered today, late that I got my mix wrong. I'm only good to -10°F, so I need to drain out about 1 Gallon and add pure coolant back.
Drained and flushed system. Flushed heater cores both directions with a garden hose. Flushed entire system 4X with distilled water.
New Thermostat and gasket. Discovered part of my overheating problem was that the old thermostat was only opening about half way.
I installed a new heater valve. Four Seasons brand from RockAuto. Don't buy this one, folks! It only opens about 70% of what the factory valve opens. I will be buying and installing a new one for better flow.
New Toyota belts. Went through proper tensioning a couple times, started it and ran it for 15 minutes, let it cool down and retensioned. The old ones were on it for two year and had about 22K miles on them. I had adjusted them at least 3 times. What's the interval on belt replacement?
I used a Gates Krikit tensiometer and a OTC tensiometer and they were very different from each other in readings and methodology. I don't really trust the Krikit, but I can't fit anything else in there reasonably.
Rotated tires. Have 12,800 miles on the new tires before I rotated. I hope I didn't screw that up. I had made myself a promise that I would change them every 8000 miles this time. I guess I missed that.
Installed a Hand Throttle.
After going over everything, I need to add some new stuff to my purchase list:
* Heater Valve (Toyota Brand)
* Alternator. Bearings are starting to make noise. It's a reman from O'Reilly. I'll be ordering a Toyota or Denso or rebuilding one of the others I have in hand.
* Windshield washer tank. Mine has started to UV weather check bad. Want to get one before they're gone and before mine fails completely.
* AC Idler Pulley Bearing or assy. I can hear the bearings start to squeak.
* Aisin Water Pump so I have it on hand. I think the one on the truck was installed when the PO did the HG at 145K, so it's coming up due.
* Windshield gasket. I discovered when installing my throttle cable that my windshield has been leaking. Was raining for 4 days and still while I was installing the hand throttle, it dripped on my head.. Not cool.
* Hood insulator. it has shredded over time and I just need to do it.
* Headlight Eyebrow gaskets and pins. For some reason a couple pins are missing and they are torn up.
* Front axle rebuild kit. (It's time)
* Rear axle rebuild kit. (It's time)
Didn't get to a few other things on my list, but it was LOT of progress.
I had about 100K miles on the coolant and it was due. So, I'm good for another 100K on the cooling system.

did you pack those tapered roller bearings with grease? I thought they were lubricated by the gear oil in the case?
2 years and 22k is not what I'd consider acceptable mileage or age for belts.
3-4 years and 40,000 miles is what I'd expect.
