Received this letter today from the Air Quality Management Board. They are generously offering me $1200 dollars for my gas guzzling '97 FZJ80 to send it to the scrapper.
What do you think? $1200 buys a lot of dog food. :hmm:

Nice work on the mount and your first drawing! I watched a few tutorials on that program and love it. Fingers crossed I can install it on my work computer and cant wait to start dreaming things up lol. It's cool to make things by hand but with crap tooling I have I would much rather design it and have someone else do it right and much quicker.
The software is fairly intuitive for the little I played with it!
And with services like Send Cut Send, I think it is worth it to learn how to do a digital design and have it laser cut properly!

Sprayed two cans all over the fender wells
Keep the noise down from the mud terrains and rocks on the trail.

Might help..

If nothing the wells look nicer then before and it only took 30 min.

I mean the can says "eliminate road noise"

They do it this way because they don't know which are junkers and which aren't. Casting a wide net. Now, that being said, a $1200 Land Cruiser? Maybe a bare frame...

Discovered I have a leak from my rear heater hoses. No one that comes to mind has the correct formed hose for the delete but I found a 90 degree formed hose from Gates that I can use and then have some other hoses around the house for the other side. Not looking forward to making the mess with the coolant.
I think Wits End has the hose for the delete

You are correct but I contacted Joey and they were in bound from Japan and couldn't get a ETA as they have not cleared customs at the time of our conversation.

But I was able to fix it and now back on the road.

Looks awesome!!! That's the rack I want as soon as it becomes available. I love how your build with all that @Delta VS stuff! Any noticeable noise coming from that rack?
Thanks, it's been a fun learning experience journey. The axle rebuild and regear / lockers was the largest project yet.

I can't say enough about the @Delta VS gear, they make it easy to easy to be a fan boy:hillbilly: the bumpers, sliders, console, Panhard, and radius arms speak for themselves. And the Delta team is great to work with on the build.

The Bowfin was an awesome surprise from my wife We just finished a 1500 mile trip up through Oregon I notice zero additional wind noise from the bowfin @dogfishlake roofrack. It came in amazing packaging, was super easy to install and an added benefit is my sunroof is open way more now because is so quiet with the rack installed. It's also much less turbulence with the sunroof open. Patrick was also great to work with via email.

Now if I could just figure out the front end vibration between acceleration and deceleration the new factory/ double carden Drive shaft helped but didn't fix. I'm beginning to suspect my transfer case front output bearing might be causing it. I plan to read lots of mud this week on the Tcase.

I can't wait for my @Delta VS bumper to get here. This wait is gonna be murder.

It's the first time i wish I had a 94-97

Send a letter back offering to pay them $2,000 for any Land Cruiser they get with their promotion =)

Got a state inspection so I can renew registration. Can't believe I've owned her for a year already! Thankfully with my rig being a '94 and OBD1, it's just a "safety" inspection, no emissions. Brakes, tires, lights, wipers...$7 and 15 minutes and was out the door.

Changed the oil and filter...had been about 8,000 miles.

Picked up some fire wood...

Burned some of said wood...

Ok what MUD member works for Bay Area Air Quality???? 😂

Great advise! Thanks!
Wish I had followed that advice years ago. Now I have a wiring mess I am going to have to figure out, label and diagram.

That's not a wiring diagram, this is a wiring diagram ->

Though mine encompasses a bit more wiring/rewiring :) This on my patrol in oz.

But, I agree, you definitely want to document what you've done for yourself and in case you ever sell the vehicle. A few photos doesn't hurt either.

cheers,
george.
This post reminds me of when Crocodile Dundee pulls out his knife and says "that's not a knife, this is a knife" and he is holding a knife that is closer to a machete!

Even though we have smog here I still think inspections are weird. They don't care how safe your car is as long as it passes emissions.
