Replaced the fusible like today, and of course nothing goes as planned. Happy I was at home and not on the road.

Rebuilt the front axle today w/ help from my buddy. Also did OEM brakes and rotors.
Next is the rear axle.
Oh! Had to air down to 4psi to fit in the garage.

Got my new antenna installed, it is just kind of wonky right now. Sometimes it goes back in perfectly and sometimes it doesn't. I have had it in and out 4 times. cut off about 6 inches of length anticipating a small broken remnant inside the gear motor. I am hoping it finds its happy place soon:)

Had to snap a few pics while the neighbors were at church so they don't think I am nuts!

New Osram LED bulbs all round. Except the headlamps - I'll be putting Osram Nightbreaker Lasers in there in the near future. Indicators are hyper flashing, but I have a CF13 relay with adjustable resistance on order so will fix that soon

Also ditched the corroded tail light guards which I couldn't see the point of. Probably OEM but installed by some species of ape using a variety of fixings including a self tapping wood screw...

Going to convert internal lighting to LED next

Up in the Sierra at 7K elevation, still a bunch of spring snow with big fir trees stretched across the rd blocking access and
the bears were out and about scrapping for food..

reconditioning my old center caps. I may use them or I may just pack them up to keep with the truck. Used "brass" model paint and paint syringes which seemed to look great! Duplicolor Silver wheel paint, and will later clear coat after the gold dries.
The brass color seems to have a bit more silver or sheen to it than a normal gold metallic. Frankly, I still prefer the knock off versions I got from the bay for $50 bucks.

This weekend I drove my newly turbo'd 80 using a kit I put together. Just awesome! Slightly more details and pics in my build thread. A good weekend for sure.

I took '80 #1 into town yesterday.

Unfortunately it was supposed to be a round trip.

My radiator decided it was tired of containing coolant and as I sat at the second traffic light after my highway run, it let go.

Fortunately a quick phone call got me a ride back home and a three hours later I was back with tow rig and trailer. Thank the gods for beat up Chevy one ton pickups. ;)

I'll be swapping the rad out tonight. curious to see how it sprung a spewing leak on the backside, away from any seam and with no apparent possibility of external damage. I don't know maybe she just decided she wanted to pretend to be a trailer queen for a day?
