have a you started a separate thread of the process? I’d be willing to keep up with it haha as much as Id love to drop off my 80 for a full restore, it’s out of the picture for the price. Although, I might end up doing it myself.
I haven't yet. I'm going to be removing the rear heater as well so I'll be sure to take more pictures and detail it out once finished.

I've done some restorations on different cars over the years that were my own and clients. Mostly old Mustangs or Chevy pickups. I'm really loving the 80 though. Lots of possibilities to make it more what I want.

What’s the reason for removing the rear heater? I’ve seen a lot of members mention it.

So I think it's either leaking or they've bypassed it at the firewall so it's no longer functional as to why people delete it. Once it's out, more room to mount an amp or just stash stuff under that seat. I've never used mine and never felt like it was really necessary. Nobody typically rides in the back anyway.

Makes sense. I do use mine since my kids are always with me when we go out wheeling so it helps.

Here's one more vote for a QUALITY build thread...I started reading one last night 7 pages long the guy didn't even end up buying the rig!...😳

The magnaflow appears to be good enough quality, Fit fine and I went with all new oem gaskets and hardware all around cause what comes with them are trash.
The Bosal I can tell won't last too long but I hoping since I live in the south I'll get at least 7 years out of it. At 230$ for both bosal parts, that's perfectly worth it to me. Beats the hell out of the leaky OEM and with new rubber hangers everything fit quite nicely.

Got tired of my leaky power steering resivour.. the OEM one was about $200 and this one from PSC with more capacity and a filter was about $30 more....
So I did a lil modding and PooF its in there!


In case anyone wants to do this, here is a list of parts. you have to convert this over to AN 6 and 10 so your power steering hoses will fit the AN/Barb fittings.
Also it is a serious pain to find power steering hose that is 10mm, the pic below is a NAPA hose that is 9.65mm and it slides on perfectly!!

Adding some extra heavy-duty swaybar axle brackets. The factory are light duty IMO and are prone to breaking if wheeled hard and not disconnected. I run sway bar disconnects but I dont always disconnect if its just a short section. With that said I didnt want to subject myself to a possible problem.

After removing you can see how little weld holds these in place without a bolt.

I used 10.9 12mm fine thread and just bolted them in place.

A bit of both really. I updated my steering gear to the 105 Sector shaft and rebuilt all the internals so its like new, I really like the idea of having clean oil circulating at all times and more capacity means cooler oil and a longer service life.

Do you really need all this? I dont really think so unless you are a hard core wheeler.. Im not anymore but I'm kinda running out of things to do to my rig..LOL!
 
Recently I became a tester for a new product from Witsend Landcruiser products. A few months go I contacted Joey @NLXTACY at Witsend with the idea of making a thicker more bash proof rear sway bar to axle retention strap. So far I’ve destroyed two pair of the stock stamped steel straps and bushings subsequently. I run a dc dear shaft with the pinion pointed up toward the T-case so my sway bar and those straps are closer to danger.

Joey responder immediately and he sent me pics of what he had come up with. These are not yet on the market pending some testing which may be a while given current circumstances.

They are made of thick aluminum and came with 4 Allen head bolts. For me, installation was not exactly straight forward because my rear sway bar is bent which threw off the bolt hole alignment. I did manage but the bushings are in a bit of a bind and will probably wear faster because of it.
