Wiper motor breakdown and lubrication

Yesterday while pulling out of my parking spot I heard some grinding. So I parked the LC immediately and got a set of new brakes after work. This morning I did the rears and that is where my issue lied, the driver's side was almost to the metal.

One of the pistons on my jack failed so I can't lift any weight. So tomorrow after work I am going to use the forklift to raise the front end and do the front brakes.

Simply had to get out of the house for a bit. Not to far from home there is a scenic, easy drive. A bit gray and gloomy today, but still better than being stuck inside the entire day.

For me, any type of fabrication is a major challenge. I only seem to be able to see one step ahead of where i am. Having lots of time but none of the parts adds another dimention to the challenge. Hopefully when the bits arrive they will go where i hope...

I really wanted the fuse box where the ACR is planned to be so it is more accessible but that looks tough but maybe doable when i start to wire things. I know it is a big ask but i am hoping i can squeeze the the coalescing filter for the OBA into the space to the right of the ACR...i think i might have had too much whiskey this afternoon...

Ordered more stuff to again overhaul my flooded front axle. Decided to crazy:
CV's Seals, Bearings just all the stuff gets rebuild and repainted. Love to keep the 80 clean.

Meanwhile my wife used the 80 to drive me to our local dealer. Guess what arrived after 5 months?

The GDJ150 Land Cruiser, I think in Australia it's only called the Prado and the US is only supplies with the lexus version?! Fortunately this one was build in Japan and will have a long life full of adventures.

Stay safe everybody.

Installed DS2 5.0 bi-xenon projectors into depo housings. Retrofitsource supplied the goods. Baking a headlamp is not the boogie man i had thought it'd be. Pretty easy deal. Going to aim / adjust them once it gets dark later today.

The WFH routine has been a bit of a change for the LX. It went from getting 2K miles a month as a DD, to now getting started once a week to keep it lubed and charge the battery :(.

Working now on little bits I've been putting off in the interior. Today was installing strips of L-Track in the cargo area so I have a place to tie off propane canisters.

Spent some time cleaning out 340k miles worth of gravel and bumblebees and straighening fins on my AC condenser. Judging from the light coming through, I'd say I improved the ariflow by 10-20%. Maybe I should get a bug net. It was very zen-like and relaxing.

Your post is a bit confusing. You talk about installing valves for a 13bt but you show pictures of rocker arms not valves. Are you referring to the rocker arm as a valve? in the diagram it shows the intake rocker arm on a 3B being slightly longer than the exhaust. If that is the case for your old rocker arms then they will be a bit higher ratio than the shorter arm. You will get less valve lift with the shorter rocker if you are using the same cam. Perhaps a 13bt has a different lobe profile to compensate.

I started a similar project yesterday and lasted 2 maybe 3 minutes at best. I even made a little tool to help seperate the fins...maybe try again in a week when lockdown has smoothed off a few more of my rough edges...very much doubt i will ever get to a zen state though..

I have found one of these works well for cleaning/straightning fins. IIRC it was not expensive. I got it after I mangled my radiator fins trying to use a screwdiver :).
