What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend? (60 Viewers)

I did a few things over the Veterans Day weekend. I installed the Warn 9.5ti winch, finished installing the Metal Tech 4x4 rear control arms and also installed my Marlin Crawler MARLINK HD steering upgrade. I need to get the alignment done on the LC as the steering wheel is off-center now. It has been explained to me how to do it but I would rather have the pros do it.

On other social media platforms, people recommended painting the 555 ball joints. What have people done in the past?

marlin crawler upgrade is sweet, never bent one ever.

got it done in about 8 hours with a bit of guidance. I think it'd go a lot quicker if i'd done it before.

I did all this because I was chasing a vibration that happens in the front end at about 110km/h. the vibration is still there lol. but the wheel bearings were stuffed and needed replacing. same with the front rotors. I guess I'll keep looking for those vibes.

Nice job. In my experience a vibration at a certain speed is generally due to a balancing issue, have you tried the simple things like that yet?

Finally lubed my u-joints. Front took 1 pump (part time), rear took 4-5 pumps. Good thing my "75 MPH full chassis vibration alarm system" reminds me to lube them now and then! DOH!

Did you get these in yet?
What is the ride height from bottom of flare to center of hub? 23?

No I have not, I had some dental work done and I am out of commission I hope to this weekend

You know what the drive shaft rubbed the sway bar a bunch , so I had to get spacers

If you just did the drag Link (pictured) it super easy to adjust a two :banana: job. If you did the tie rod then it's best to let the professionals put it on there alignment rack. PS just because the steering wheel is off center doesn't necessarily mean you need a alignment. Just sayin

Considerably stronger ? Based on what ? If you wheel those Bumper will hang up on everything. If your thinking ROAD KILL then they are perfect

I was comparing them to most bumpers made out of 10 gauge steel or 1/4 aluminum.

This truck isn’t going to win any beauty pageant contest. It’s on the road most of it’s life.

Helped my parents pull some fence posts and some bushes.

Nice quick and dirty job!

If it's on the road as much as you say, you may want to unblock your turn signals or add some in the bumper.

Of course, the plan is to run over everything in front of you.....I get that!

I agree. I might do up some other tubing so it doesn’t hide so much of the blinkers.

You could also just swap the blinker function to the corner lights....

Nah not yet. Actually that reminds me I was going to go see if I can rattle the pinion bearing on the front third. I did put the new springs and shocks in fairly recently so I may have moved something that now vibrates against something else when I did that, who knows. I really don’t mind, doing stuff to my cruiser is like a soothing thing for my mental health now so the more I work on it the better IMO

Froze my a^% off but still pulled my transfer case in driveway and installed the new one I just finished rebuilding part time marlin crawler and I’m gonna fill it in AM AND HOPE FOR THE BEST I replaced every bearing, race, installed new OEM actuator and it wasn’t easy alone but it’s in. Found it easier to pull old TC in pieces, so thats what your looking at. Im going to build that equally as robust. If I can find another new marlin crawler gear for it. #ih8mud
