Obligatory stop at Teakettle Junction to see the backlog of kettles our government hasn't removed since the shut down

Awesome place to get away..The gov't is in charge of removing tea kettles?

Modded some things today. LCP flip up window and bolted in my tool can. Being able to access my rear cargo area with my tire gate on the back is a life saver. Took an hour to install the flip up window with zero experience. His Videos help.

Tool can is not really my favorite thing, but a gift from my old lady so i gotta rock it. It works alright, but its a bit noisey. Gotta put foam or rags inside.

I'm told since the kettles aren't a natural or protected part of the landscape, they (presumably the National Park Service) remove them. There are a number of creative "art installations" around the park which are likely ultimately subject to the same fate and even some seemingly natural park features are removed.

Even these guys are being relocated from the park

Maybe there's more to the story. Some sort of alien conspiracy at work? They appear to have a mail delivery system there...

Oh wow you moved!?
Yep, work transferred me to Missouri. But I’ll be back in Oceanside next week to close some stuff out.
And besides, judging by what I’ve been reading in the news about JT and the other parks I’d probably be patrolling and burying bodies if I was still there. People done lost their minds. I digress.

Found my Melvill and Moon 315/75/16 spare tire cover.. for sale if anyone’s interested, might include seat covers

I installed the Delt ceiling brackets with a shelf from the container store. I wanted to do something a little different and since my interior is tan I purchased some tan camo Plasti Dip. Thanks again Mickey for the great idea on the Delta brackets!

As was intended, I drove it and enjoyed it.

Made it to the pacific and more specifically to the original builder of this trucks house @80BajaBound and he drove her again and approved of the work I’ve done. So we are full circle

Guessing if they didn't remove the kettles, there would just be a giant mound of kettles totally obscuring the sign. Though it doesn't seem like they put very much effort into prohibiting people from placing them there in the first place. Death Valley NP is certainly unique in its tolerance to things that wouldn't fly in other NPs, like the strange objects scattered as landmarks around the park. I am guessing they don't remove crankshafts from Crankshaft Junction very often, though. As for the donkeys, they are feral and a detriment for the ecosystem, more so than a pile of kettles.

Stamped some leather and adhered it to the console and the gearshift. I had the wooden ball made a few years back.

Put the cup holders in, finally.

I wanted to use the space in the passenger 1/4 panel for tow ropes, D-rings, snatch blocks, etc. It's about 50lbs of stuff that I wanted out of the way. I still have some shaping, cutting and am putting additional screws in (I used some of the existing holes and drilled some others). The stuff back there now is not coming out and although it doesn't look great I'm pretty sure anyone handier than I am could've made it look pretty slick.
