You mean removed the filter and then mopped up the all the oil that was in the filter from the engine, tranny lines, block, pan, driveway, etc.?

On a HDJ81 the oil filter is on the side of the block up near the top, and pointing downward...and you think you've got problems, lol.

Sounds like my wife's RX, the filter is a bit more than level, actually drains out as you spin it off. So much fun.

Removed the durabak from the bottom. Got sick of it cause you can see every piece of dirt it ever got on it and the wife got sick of it scratching the back of her legs when she got out.

Covered all of the faded red with midnight special monstalinerView attachment 1772906 somehow I got 2 coats with 1 gallon. There are some thicker spots and I plan to give it another coat at some point down the road but it is pretty good for now.

I ordered a small Auber gauge, to work with type K thermocouples for my exhaust pyrometer. I had ordered the white gauge faces off eBay a year ago and had a spare gauge cluster so I cut out three empty indicator light spots to fit the auber in, waiting for the thermocouple to arrive, pics will explain better

I forgot, the smaller cover I scratched off the black, after the picture with the LED's lit I cleaned it up with 320 grit and polished with headlight polisher buffer on the drill, it's much clearer than the picture indicates. Also was reading 3333 for an error code as the thermocouple isn't hooked up.

The 91-92 gauges don't line up with the 93-97 white faces, if anyone has a damaged or spare cluster they would like to donate the faces off the miles and tach I'd be happy to take it off their hands!

For those of you contemplating the turbo kit that will be available late next year you may want to start ordering parts for this now

Yes, foam underneath the condenser and between the condenser and radiator on top and sides.

I know, I've passed on 2x used headlights now because they were Toyota (too wide) and not Lexus! The windshield chip guy did manage to patch the tiny hole in the large crack which surprisingly worked and has kept water out for 3x years! When it had moisture inside, it was worthless, even with HIR bulbs. The kicker is that State Farm Insurance doesn't cover glass headlights under zero deductible glass coverage any more!!

That fitting is where the vent tube from the charcoal canister went. I think. I better go check.

Filter was dry with the oil change, cold, not run in a week. no drips.

I want that thing full and ready to go.

I was a little concerned about that but I pretty much always run 193F and now it's running 190F. Mind you, I've only had 24 hours to test it but I'll see. I could use 2x thicker foam along the top and smash it between the condenser and the radiator support rail. Not much I can do about the sides without bending some sheet metal.

About $300 for the Nissens condenser and Denso evap, TXV and Drier.

Looks like he added an oil filter adapter that rotates the filter 90 degrees so it's pointing up instead of at the block.

I put a small basket in where the jack was in the DS quarter panel, it should fit 4 x bottles of oil or lubricant, it's got two and a bottle jack in it now, but I'm moving the jack to elsewhere.

The container is aluminum scrap I had that I bent up in the vice.

Just makes a pinch more space for stuff behind the third row
