New steering column seal.

I need to do that steering seal myself, I’m spending some time isolating my cabin from the outside world, and both that and my shift seals are bad.

I have the Wildpeaks now for a couple weeks and love them! They are really quiet and I've already tested them in rain, snow and ice. Excellent traction and braking. They won't replace a snow tire but I am really happy with these. I have 285/75/16 so sure you would want to go bigger.

I’ll second that. I ran the wild peaks for almost 5 years (mine were also 285) and they were fantastic. I wanted to go that way again, but last spring when I needed new measurements no one had them so I went with Cooper Discoverer ATes and absolutely don’t regret that decision. It’s pretty hard to get bad tires these days when you go with the good brands and follow their advice. Typically when I see someone crying about a tire, when you look deeper into the situation, they were running them outsized (for the rim), on spacers, wrong load rating, or they have other truck issues that exacerbate their problems. My coopers have about 10,000 miles now and they are only just beginning to show the slightest hints of wear.

Trying to locate a tranny line leak and trying to figure out why i have cooler lines running into the radiator as well as the cooler in front of the condensor. Is this normal?

Yes that’s normal. The trans fluid runs through the radiator to help get trans fluid up to temperature and the cooler helps cool the trans fluid. Check the fittings into the radiator. Mine came loose and started leaking.

Just to clarify I have the new Wildpeak AT3W...I think these are awesome! I had the old ones before and although they were inexpensive and wore well they were really really bad in snow and ice. The new ones are like a billions times better and still at a great price.

Stopped by a customer’s house to check out the siding and windows we finished up on Friday. Customer mentioned this pine tree she hated. I told her I have an axe in my truck. “Of course you do!” I busted it out and channeled my inner @woodsman 44. Made light work of it.

Hi everyone, I just picked up my first LC today, 91', one owner, 146k. Most everything seems to work, thanks to the online community here I was able to be well informed and prepared to welcome her to the fleet. Got a 92' FSM from the Toyota publisher (no 91 available, but same truck right?), and look forward to the adventure. Got it from a local Toyota dealer that took it in on a trade. Brake line burst on my test drive, and E brake did not work, so the dealer fixed the issues before I picked her up today. Oil is leaking slowly from somewhere in the engine (wet oil pan), there is typical rust for a vehicle that lived in NYC it's whole life. Drivers side floor is a little wet, smell a little mildew, windows only open a crack all around, sunroof does not work and I don't care. The 3FE seems to have decent power despite popular opinion, and the tranny was rebuilt 10k ago. I think the PO cared for her well, I'm happy. Monday it goes to my mechanic that I've known most of my 47 years for evaluation and planning. So far I expect to keep her stock and use her as designed. Thanks in advance for the questions I will undoubtedly be asking. For example, center diff lock seems to work as I was playing with it in the snow today, but should there be a dash light? or should the button light up? I think a dash light, but have not searched forums yet. Sorry for the long post, forgive me, I'm new.

Ghost town. Hasn't been the same since the late 70's (when I was a kid).

It is my first time stopping here. It does look pretty dead here. Either way I have to wait till Monday to load at Caterpillar in Sanford, NC! At least the restaurant was open! I may go check out the reptiles tomorrow. At least I brought my Camera this trip.

Changed the oil and filter, rotated the tires(gotta figure a better way to get the spare up and onto that roof rack), checked the pressures. Just routine, nothing fancy.

That comes this week while I'm installing this:
Strobes N' More Tru-Dual EFlood 11000 Warning Flood Bar - StrobesNMore.com
For some better warning lights. Makes those roadside jobs I come across safer.;)

Welded up this bit of armor from ruffstuff in the freezing cold.

Did a little bit of sheet metal work today. Made out of 16ga.

Dealt with a leaking front axle oil seal on the driver side only. Last spring I did a complete knuckle service including all new hardware and RCV shafts. Ever since, the driver side has been ejecting quite a bit of grease but not dripping.

Yesterday I drained the front diff and it was thick with Moly grease, no surprise there. I tore it down and inspected all hard parts today finding nothing wrong. But, when I removed the OEM oil seal it was minus the little spring that holds the seal snuggly to the axle. Lesson I learned here is to thoroughly verify the integrity of even the simplest part before installation.

Also, I borrowed this nifty, adjustable seal driver from Auto Zone. It worked fantastic!
