This makes me reconsider the LAB's front bumper.. like what you've done with the canister man, keep us posted

Well, after 2 1/2 years on the shelf "OSO" has finally got the OME 850/860 lift and shocks I bought from @jp_waltz.

Checked the date code on the 285's LTX M/S that are on her and they are from '05. Looks like timing was good with this one.

Now I have to decide if I install 305's or 315's. I have decided to go with the Falken WildPeak AT 3W based on the research. Any thoughts on this choice and opinions on which size before i pull the trigger this week?

A fuel spill is in no way a catastrophic failure. A fuel spill that runs into the gutter where somebody flicked a cigarette butt that ignites the fumes that runs back and catches the 80 on fire which catches the pumps on fire which causes the underground tanks to blow which makes a crater covering a good chunk of one zip code that ruptures the city water mains and takes out the power grids for half a state- THAT is a catastrophic failure. Let's keep some perspective here folks!

As for the 80 stuff-not a big deal, but on the way home from work last night came across a container truck that had dropped his offside wheels into the ditch by cutting a corner too close in the dark. Used the LED bars to provide work lights and directed traffic for them while they used an excavator to haul it back out. No fuss, no muss, 10 minute public service job. Nice to have the scene lighting and my reflective stuff on to make things safer. Kept the incidental damage to a minimum. The work crew loved the light bars!

Maybe I'll have to move the emergency lights up the to-do list a little bit now, I could have used a little more warning than just the 4-ways...

They use a "proprietary" petroleum product. Previously they used fluid film and didn't like the longevity of the lanolin product, odor or coverage. Their words, not mine.

263 S. Main St. Concord, NH https://nhoilundercoating.com/find-a-dealer/ There are other places around that use their products, I haven't investigated any others than the main store.

Total cost was $159 for their clear product, if you want the tinted black it is $179 or $189, can't recall. They are booked through the first week of January, but do take drop-in's. Total time for application is about 30-45 minutes. Family run operation as I can best tell, very friendly group who remembered me from last year.
did you need to clean your undercarriage or did they deal with that ? because its already quite sloppy up here.

Yup. Great camping at the top and a free campground about 2 miles from the start of the trail.

Dunno what "quite some time ago is" but from what others tell me it has evolved quite a bit over the last few years. My first trip out was about two years ago. It's definitely the best Virginia has to offer in terms of "challenging" public wheeling options.
Totally agreed, nothing else that I've found locally compares. I need to get back there. The more activity it gets, the more it changes - probably totally different from the last time I was there.

Just installed my COMEUP Winch on my 80 this last weekend.

Man I dig that battery indicator hope it works out, watching you relocate vid now.

I really wish someone would make a video on the finishing after cutting the wells. I want to cuut mine but dont know how to make it look right after ward.

Great lookin rig, nice wheels also, wish you still have the flares, looks naked without IMO

Thanks! I actually have the stock flares in my garage The previous owner took them off but included them when he sold it to me. Haven't decided if I want to throw them back on or no, so I'll have to throw them on one side and see how I like them.

Good install! FYI, COMEUP has a rope protector like you mentioned you were looking for.

I just talk to Rob at Comeup Winches USA he is sending me one of those in the mail right now they only have a couple right now they just came out with that little item

Where do you find quartz and amethyst like that?

The quartz is found in the Mogollon Rim area in a place called Diamond Point--a trail known to have quartz--apparently this area is the only place in the world where amethyst is found in quartz. It's really rare to find even there. We usually get about 1" deep and then move on. hahaha.

Hunters are not allowed to use any tools to dig for the quartz--you can use your hands or whatever is in the forest to dig. Usually the quartz is about the size of a pea or smaller. I take the kids and we run around like chickens with our heads cut off for about 30 minutes and then we go home. hahaha.

Just cut it up and figure out how to make it nice after. Mine came out damn nice and didn’t require much clean up. Sometimes you just have to go for it

They blow it off a bit when you bring it in before they apply the undercoating. As I sat in the waiting area listening to the owner field calls, the shop recommended cleaning the big chunks off before bringing it in after a snow or if you've had it on a treated roads for a bit.

FWIW, not much as it's mid-December, they offer a discount if you bring it by in the Fall vice waiting for winter. I'm sure there is a cash flow component as well as a capacity limit in the winter months to how many customers they can serve.
