:lol:

That's right. 188000 miles.

:meh:

Ironically (?) I got my Blackstone report yesterday afternoon: "there are slight signs of coolant in your oil..." Just hours later, BOOM
I could crush it right now.

:hmm:

I am in the midst of a repaint on my daughter's 80. Started Friday afternoon tearing down. Tonight I have body repairs pretty much done. Tomorrow will be tape it up and shoot epoxy primer/sealer, take a nap, then spend the evening painting it green, then back to get it out of the way by 5 a.m. to powder coat things and earn money.

I replaced the new drive shaft, I had to tack weld one of the studs, to remove the nut, and the threads are toast, so I guess I'll be ordering a new rear out put flange/shaft or I'll just see if I can get new studs :bang:, But I did past 1000 miles with my diesel

I seem to remember the rear studs not being available separately, but they might be the same as on a 60-series which were.

@cruiserdan or @beno any input?

Yeah I need studs, and the only way is buy the rear out put shaft, I am not happy about this

As I got started I thought, "this won't be too bad. I should be done in an hour." No. It took twice as long as I thought and everything from my elbows to the tips of my fingers hurts. I'm pleased it's done for nothing else than peace of mind.

So it only took you 2 hours ? I would say you came out way ahead of the average on that one !
I think I could've shaved 45 minutes if I installed the new hose on the engine side first and then worked the hard pipe into the hose. Once I went that route I had it together in 10 minutes. If you are a big guy with thick arms and thick hands I feel for you. This job is definitely designed for "little-fingered m$%&#r f$%@#rs", as an old plumber used to say about the Japs and their automobiles. Can I say that???

You're going from the best color to the second worst color!!! Blasphemy!

WTF. Of all the colours green has got to be my least favorite. The colour it is now is really nice. I repainted my green 80 to white earlier this year. Couldnt be happier.

I am the American dream. Cleared 860 miles from Arizona to Eastern Oklahoma with the 80 series on 35s and trailer. I racked out in a sleepy little I-40 town for the night and now I'm back on the road to the Great Smoky Mountains. Less than two days ago I was in California.

Reminds me of driving my old tacoma with 35s and a trailer full of tools and a dirt bike from Utah to Georgia and back a few times. I always stopped in Elk City Oklahoma, right off I40. There is a lake with free camping off the interstate there. Lots of fun

I hate greasing my u-joints. No matter what I do I can't get one of the zircs to line up without dropping the shaft. I recall someone recommending a 3oz gun with a needle making it easier.

It is a winner. It is so much easier and cleaner. I still will have to drop the shaft one more time as one of the joints on the difficult one didnt ooze, but it shouldn't be a problem in the future with more regular greasing.
