80 dragged our retro caravan to the 'far North' of New Zealand and hung out at the beach with the wife and our 2.5yo daughter. Day trip to the top of the country via 90 mile beach. Some sand dune boogie boarding!

And then this afternoon I finally got around to putting on the front 50mm TJM progressive springs that have been kicking around my garage for the better part of a year. I was surprised to find that I had OME 851 springs in front. I always thought I had 850 since the truck had 863 in the rear when I bought it--no wonder the stink bug was so bad. The TJM springs had 2" more free height compared to the 851's and resulted in a hair over a 1" lift compared to the OME's. My front/rear ride height is finally close enough to level that I can leave well enough alone and for the fist time since I've owned the truck, I actually have a matching suspension system rather than cobbled-together mis-matched springs. I went and hit some RR crossings and drainage dips and these progressives really smoothed out the ride a lot. Feels like a Lexus instead of a buldozer :)

Where'd you purchase the progressives? Your description of the ride quality sounds like what I'm after.

Spent the weekend doing a bit of prep for Cruise Moab. Lots of small stuff. Finally installed my LCP front swaybar disconnects. I've been driving around with the front sway bar disconnected for a few days now including a couple hundred miles of highway with no scary behavior. I don't notice much change in body roll. I know there is a little more roll but nothing dramatic. I'm going to keep driving it this way for a bit longer before I decide for sure but I may not hook the sway bar back up at all.

Replaced the rear swaybar links. Mine were worn out and making lots of clunking noises in the joint.

Replaced all the ujoints in my driveshafts. I had a couple that were getting sloppy. Probably could have left a couple alone but decided to just replace them all while I was there.

The time consuming project was repainting my SCS wheels. I had painted them a "stainless steel" color last summer but have decided that I prefer them black so I stripped them and repainted them black.

lastly was a spring cleanup of the truck from all the winter grime. Full polish and wax. Definitely no show queen but for 22 years old, she cleans up alright.

How was replacing the U-Joints? Do you have a press or did you use the hammer method? I have some Toyota U-Joints on my bench waiting to be installed. I keep going back and forth between giving it to a driveline shop to do it and balance, or to just do myself.

It wasn't bad. I have a 12-ton press that I used. The only weird part was that the yoke isn't flat so keeping it straight in the press was a little tricky.
 
Doesn't your cruiser have on-board hot water?

if you do that you need to control glare or its really bad.
if you look close you will see a lip on the bottom of each light like an upside down baseball hat to keep stray light off the glass and hood

Yes I was going to say that. I had my lights out over the windshield a bit at first and the glare was bad. I didn't have a "deflector" for the light so I moved the lights back behind the windshield a little and it reduced the glare.

Good looking truck though @DylanICON
