Dammit! DS axle shaft all buggered. Where's my file!

Took forever to get it out. Upon inspection I could see several areas where they attempted to bounce the birf onto the shaft. I have a feeling they did it without compressing the clip so they thought it wasn't aligned so clocked it a degree or two and started pounding.

It wasn't bad. I have a 12-ton press that I used. The only weird part was that the yoke isn't flat so keeping it straight in the press was a little tricky.

@Box Rocket, i am in the middle of an axle swap/ OME lift install. Wondering what you would charge to press in my caster correction bushings? Or have a referral for someone local that can? I Appreciate the help and love what you have done with your cruiser!
 
New bumper installed and wired but I still need tow hooks. Anyone know of aftermarket hooks that bolt up to where the stock hooks attach to?

Personally I'd rather stock recovery loops. They are set up to keep the bolts in a much stronger configuration.

I'm not going to be around for the next couple weeks, and I don't imagine you want to wait that long so I'm probably not the best solution right now. I would call Cruiser Outfitters. Pressing those bushings is common job for them.

Trail-Tailor has some that bolt up in the stock location. Nice and beefy. I like mine.

It's an Ironman 4x4 bumper. I like the look and the driving lights but not a fan of Ironman's poor North American support.

Unfortunately my rig didn't have the stock recovery loops when I got it.

You can get them cheap from someone parting out a rig. Certainly cheaper than the aftermarket options.

And much less of a rock anchor too.
