The garage door opening is getting lifted this summer. I'm extending my garage so that it is 56' long and will have a walk down opening where I'll be able to change the oil and diff fluid and stuff. When I do this I'm making the opening 10' tall with the inside 16' tall. The plan is to eventually get a lift...

56' long? That's like 3 car lengths...ish, right? I want pictures of before and after. This sounds like a great place! I have dreams to replace my 1940's 1.5 car barn with something far more suitable with a shop underneath (we're built on a slope). Would love to see what others are doing. Maybe that's worthy of its own thread.

For the record, I give @LS1FJ40 a lot of crap, but I have a lot of respect for the guy, regardless of what happened in @NLXTACY 's living room after the lights went out.

I have a slope as well. That makes this easyish to do.

Eyeeeeee, the slope, the slippery slope. We all started sliding down it when we discovered cars and girls! I am blessed in that I have a shop, pretty tall although not on my property but it'll do. I would say my snorkel gets within a centimeter of the door head as I come into the garage. Thats why I'm taking my time on roof rack.....

Bought a "new" daily driver! 2005 V8 4runner. It's a 2wd. Plans are to put some nice coilovers in front and shocks in rear. Maybe net 2" lift and 265s for the desert and mx.

I truly believed that all the V8 4th gen 4Runners were full time AWD, how about that.

Yeah it is hard to find a 4wd that has low miles and in decent mechanical shape. There are plenty of 2wd's though. But you're right... if it is a V8 and 4wd, they are full time AWD.

Since I wasn't giving up my 80 I didn't see a need for another 4wd especially for the extra mpg's I'd get for commuting! So far I am very impressed with the V8 in the 4runner. it flies!

Not doing much this weekend: "snowed in" in San Diego ;)

And we know only one of them was happy after that interaction......

Sweet! A toy with no engine to worry about. Except maybe an outboard? I'm in Indy. Nice day!
Yeah it gets good MPGs, although has plenty of problems of its own.

Today my rear wiper stopped working....took it out, took it apart and cleaned the contacts on the inside of the motor. Worked like a charm. When doing this MAKE SURE you take pictures. A few parts fell out of the rod and it took me 20 minutes to figure it out. Also when you put everything back in the truck you need to know how the arm goes back in otherwise your wiper will be wiping the tailgate and not the window.

I FINALLY finished the front axle job, took almost about a month. Mainly because I am lazy, it's not my daily driver, and hit several snags along the way. I envy those who can do these in a day. But I sure learned a lot. On to the next thing... probably the front main seal.

got some good news and bad news. good news misfire isn't from the head gasket, bad news it wasn't the spark plugs. but at least the spark plugs are new now, back to diag the misfire
