I retrieved it from the body shop, after my son wrecked my 3-inch lifted 119K vehicle it with a frontender. I went out and purchased an identical 80 with over 300K and provided it to the body shop to cannibalize. After two months I got it back and will be treating it to a rear ARB bumper and new tires and wheels.

:meh: Drove it to the mall.

Spent the last weekend at an amazing event called Set Them Free Offroad. It takes place in and around Salida, CO each year and is a gathering of a few hundred off road enthusiasts who get together to raise money to rescue girls from sex slavery. It's a critically important issue and this awesome event raises money and awareness to fight it. And they don't just fund some NGO; they hire "professionals" to work with local law enforcement agencies to build a case and when necessary, physically extract a victim from her situation. For more info, visit Home or Who We Are

I hope to see a helluva lot more Toyotas out there next year!! (I was the only built Toyota in a sea of Jeeps and Broncos.)

Got it to GA to get some work done at ACC this weekend. Prepping for a cross country national park trip next summer.
Also went ahead and got in on the Prinsu group buy

I think everyone should learn to wheel without lockers, it teaches you better line selection. It will make you a better confident wheeler in the end once you find the need for them.

This exactly. Also gives you the opportunity to learn about poor man's lockers. It's how I learned and I still don't have lockers. But I'm older and lazier, so I think Harrops are in my future.

Out with the old and in with the new. Got an ARB drawer set a few weeks back and I hated the locks that came with it. So decided to replace with the Medeco locks I use for all of my products so that I can have a keyed-alike set for my drawers. Fairly painless with just a touch of filing but then drops right in. This is a huge improvement over the standard locks that come with ARBs. I'll be making these available as kits on the site in about a week or so...maybe. We'll see. :P

Sits flush with the handle.

Finally washed her. She was pretty dirty after the weekend. Started scrubbing the wheels and realized they looked too shiny. So I sprayed them.

I used Rustoleum professional flat black. Exact same thing I used on my 92 4-5 years ago. It holds up. Takes about 5 minutes to dry between coats. And no, I didn't use the playing card method to mask off the tires. I just sprayed the wheels. A little overspray never hurt anybody!

Oh, and realized I had lost a hubcap somewhere. Probably this weekend. I throw the remaining three in the box with the caps from my 92. I like the look of it without.

Took the 30-week-pregnant wife and two boys camping at White Crack on the White Rim Trail in Canyonlands NP. Yes, it was 106 degrees, but the solitude was welcome. Having a family that indulges off-road wander is very helpful! Downside is that I broke the rusty exhaust hangers and it made some awful noises.

stuffed this guy back in on Sat.

Did you happen to clean out the oil cooler before reassembly? If so what did it look like? Any sludge?

I wish I was as good at finding spots as you people. Someone needs to type up trail maps and scenic spots for dummies for me....

Just pick up a trail book off of Amazon or your favorite bookstore (remember those? Kinda hard to find nowadays). The trail I was on was really easy, except for the ascent to the radio tower. There is an easier way up though.
