Drove the 80 last weekend out of town for baseball. Realized the AC leaves a bit to be desired. So I ordered new dryer and r134 conversion valves. Will convert from r12 to r134 Friday night before going out of town for baseball for the weekend again. No more sweating like Johnny Drama in the Valley!

On the plus side the fridge/freezer works incredibly well with the dual battery system. Flawless. But it does get warm in there. Contemplating adding 1"extruded polystyrene to the inside of the cooler to see it that helps. It stays cold but it has to work a little in the heat.
Can you add it to the outside? Or a lot of camping forums have use the reflectix stuff or one of the military style emergency blankets with the reflective material pointing outward to help keep ice coolers down. Just thinking out loud.

I've thought about that. I got the 80Qt version instead of the 63Qt version so I have a little more space inside than necessary anyway.

I will do some searching on the reflectix stuff. I know ARB makes a blanket thing for the outside of their fridges...

So far so good.
Exhaust is coming along

Nice welding job ... I see the Tig cup on the table and love that color of the beads ! Nice job !!!

Topped off the A/C with some R-12 I found from an old farmer that had a bunch on CL for his older tractors. Nice and cool now. I have to add 12 oz every other summer. Not bad.

Technically last week.. Not many pics, but I did the Barracks trail in Southern Utah. Other than some trouble with the steep downhill section into the river area it was great.. and from watching videos I probably should have taken the straight/steep route.. maybe if someone else was coming along. This was all solo.

Months and months of swapping bodies, wiring, armor building, stereo stuff, winch, dual batteries, transmission shift solenoids, etc.. the rig did great. That said, I'm rethinking what I had planned for the sleeping system. With a sleeping pad on the floor in the back I have just enough head room to sit up.. even the low drawer setup I had in mind will be too high.. and I don't want a RTT.. so I have a bit of research to do.

Also.. the tire balance issues never ended. I was moving tires around for 1000 miles trying to figure out which one it was.. eventually realized it had to be at least two.

The discount tire shop here had things WAY off.. by the time I found another discount tire they measured one wheel at 7.5oz out, another at 4.5. But.. all 5 were VERY round.. one within .005".. they said they've never seen M/Ts that round. They got everything within 5 grams and... the damn things are still shaking pretty bad at 75ish.

So.. I ordered dyna-beads. Haven't installed yet. My concern is supposedly they make it impossible to do any more dynamic balancing. I may talk to my local Discount before throwing them in.. make sure they understand this is an ongoing balance issue and if they need to be removed at a later date it won't be a total surprise..

Anyone have input on Dyna-beads?

My 93: Developed a mysterious rattle coming from the passenger side dash/engine compartment. It's not loud. Just annoying. Shows at all speeds. And rpms. Sounds hollow.

Picked up new OEM Tokico shocks for the 93. Going to throw those on tonight and get rid of the cheapo gas-a-struts or whatever they are.

Also got the rubber grommet so the washer reservoir won't leak anymore. Now I just need a return call from Slee for the washer relocate kit...

Drove my 92 yesterday. It is such a pleasant vehicle to drive. Much more comfortable than the 93. Need to get the manual seats in the 93 ASAP!

Doing my AC conversion tomorrow morning before I hit the road. It's going to be HOT AF! It'll be nice to be cool.

Oh, and had the oil changed at the dealership yesterday. Been busy and couldn't do it. It had been 8k miles since I purchased it. I was a little concerned. But realized I've probably dumped 4-5 gallons of oil in to it in the past 3 months. The mechanic asked me when it was last changed. He said the oil and filter "looked brand new". Hahaha.

Picked it up with the big forklift (backed up by two more cause I'm stupid, but not that stupid) and powerwashed the bottom. Tomorrow, hoping to lightly sandbla

Picked up a pizza tonight and a young "truck enthusiast" came flying through the door, "Is that your Land Rover out there?" "Land Cruiser, yes" I say. "That thing is so sweet, what year is that?" "97" i say. "Wow that's so cool, but what does TEO mean?" I stare, puzzled for a moment, "TEQ, you mean, that's the original logo, it means Toyota" I say. "That's sweet man, cool"

Nice to hear that stuff, must be a good kid. Hopefully he'll be a MUD member someday
