Drove the 80, brought my 8 month old Shikoku dog to the ICU. She's not well. I've started a GoFundMe fund as I'm running out of money as they try to find out what's wrong with her. Here is a link, if you could, I'd appreciate it. Anything helps.

Went to autozone to pick up a few bits and pieces for my 80. When I went to pay they said I had $20 on my rewards card. So the $20 in my pocket went your direction....hope it works out.

All I did was removed the 4wd and replaced it with this one.

You know everyone loves photos around here. I love the area around Red River Gorge. I've only ever been down there for rock climbing and some adventure racing. Haven't been back since buying my 80 series. Can't want to get down there and explore. I'm slowly gathering as much Intel as possible. Were you following part of the KAT while down there?

I'm not sure what the KAT is. The cruiser was just the camping rig in the gorge. I did go through the Nada tunnel a bunch. I love that.

Finally got around to fixing my rear window, which has been off the tracks for about 5 years.
Now I can roll it down and back up with no worries.

At the risk of going "chatty" as others have mentioned the guy did say he's selling off items on eBay...

AND.... I've seen much "worse" reasons for starting a "go fund me" I need to go on vacation, I need a new phone, ect...

This is caring for a living thing that has no way to care for itself, seems a Nobel cause if you ask me. And regardless of if it was a rescue or not, doesn't change the current state the animal is in now.

Okie dokie.....Gofundme for vacation---> insane. Gofundme for new phone----> insane. Gofundme for the care of my pet when I have good cash that I let said pet ride around in---->socialistic insanity. Gofundme because of a legitimte need posted by someone else on your behalf------>totally different planet, conversation and forum.

Noble cause you say? Write him a check

BTW, if you'll notice, I asked him twice how I could look at his ebay items and he has yet to answer. Not because I had any idea he would be making it up but because I may want to pay him for some cool items for my 80s

BTW again, my son just turned 16 and desperately needs some transportation. If you don't mind, reckon you could help me out paying for a nice 80...actually I think he'd rather have a 100 series.

If you want to donate to help his dog, cool. If you don't, cool. No need to flame the guy for asking.

Personally, I'd rather throw the guy $20 than see him have to sell his 80. We all know how much time and energy we put in to our rigs.

I like to think of the Land Cruiser crowd as an extension of my family. I'd help them out if needed. They'd help me out, if needed. I certainly would hope they wouldn't be opportunistic vultures looking to capitalize on my misfortune. So far I've been proven right that the Land Cruiser community is the best "club" around. But even the best club has a few jerks...

^^ This. "Musthave" was one of a half-dozen guys who welcomed me to go on my very first trail ride in my new 80 a couple months ago. At one point we all parked and he led the way down to a beautiful waterfall he knew about, hacking tree branches and vines along the way so others could enjoy that trail in the future. I don't profess to know him well but I know he sees the Cruiser community as just that. He's not just some dude who parachuted in here looking for a freebie.

That is certainly good news. And for the third time I will say I would like to know how to find his items on eBay so perhaps we can do business.

The fact that I know he is in need is a factor that may push me over the edge to buy something.

Oh man have I been busy..

Done:
Rebuilt driveshafts
Repaired broken side mirror
Rebuilt door jamb switches
Fabbed up a new throttle bracket
Changed tcase fluid
Rebuilt tcase shifter linkages + added a rubber boot in the cabin
Made new fuel tank mounts
New coolant lines
New PS lines
PCV catch can installed
New throttle body gasket
Did some cutting on the ARB bumper
Fixed some stuff in the driver's door
Sealed some exhaust ports with Audi oil pan plugs

Still to-do:
New exhaust manifold gaskets
Correct brake switch wiring
Figure out torque converter clutch wiring
flush and refill PS & coolant
Fix front ARB locker air fitting
Add all the fancy overland goodies back in (CB radio in particular)

Hopefully I'll be ready for Overland Expo next weekend! :hillbilly: Back to the garage now..

Since your post seems to take direct aim at me and my post:

You had me on your side in the first bit and then just went all down hill...

Your all PO'd cause the guy hasn't posted up his eBay link... Really? You must have been scammed, or have some other underlying issue here. As another said, take it or leave it, no need to be a @ss about it.

I don't think it's unreasonable to reach out to a community that you are active in for help... If you agree or not your jumping on a guy who join the same year as you and has 3X's the post count and 6X's the "likes".... Based off that I'd say the guy contributed to the fourm and has helped out around here.

And then you straight up comparing your son to a helpless dog? Really? I don't know you or your son, maybe he can't work? Maybe he has an illness or a limiting factor?

If not, tell your kid to get a job, that will make him noble and appreciate what ever he buys.

If you'd like to continue your rant, do everyone a favor and send me a PM and keep it out of the thread.

Drove 300km to Brisbane on Saturday night after working 11hrs. Bought new injectors and fuel filter on Sunday morning, fitted them in the afternoon. Then drove 300km back to chinchilla, overheated on the range with 200km to go. Found the flange on the back of the turbo leaking causing big heat soak in the engine bay and the crappy aftermarket fan clutch had completely failed. Used crappy old silicone from a truck stop to seal up the exhaust and attempted to duct tape the fan clutch to the hub. Duct tape lasted about 2 minutes before it got torn off, babied it the next 200km and got to chinchilla by 11 and promptly fell asleep.
:bang::(
Sounds like my last drive back from Brisvegas, started losing oil pressure coming into the Isa, got it home and it promptly dropped 5L on the driveway, turned out to be a front crank seal failure caused by a cracked balancer which also took out the keyway on the crank and put the car off the road for 3 months over xmas :(

Here is a photo from Cars & Coffee in West Palm Beach, Florida. I'm saving my off road driving for a summer trip to my old home state, Colorado.

Didn't get the fridge installed or sliders mounted. Decided to go fishing instead. But I wore my Wits' End hoodie and drove my 93 so that counts as tech.

And dropped my rack and sliders off for blast and powder. This time sans the solar slide out. It will get bolted on post powder.
