Hey. I haven't driven this truck since making the change (needs brakes bad LOL), but the last truck I swapped saw many miles and those things never moved. Worth the investment.

Got some Trail Tailor sliders on, quick communication and super quick turn around, about 3 weeks from order. Went on nicely .. just broke one bolt.. and enjoyed the touch on the steps. Now to get my rockers fixed and rear bumper built at some point
Went to the flea market and came across a friend…
Replaced the rear hatch struts so it actually raises on its own now, and installed the Noco Genius2 battery maintainer plug.

Just did this too, but I bought Toyota when on sale. Darn near took it in the chin when I first opened it up!

Decided to get me some Boss AirBags , the more I go camping the more sh!t I seem to bring with me, me and two kids worth of stuff. This eliminates the sag and lean( lower on drivers side)the back develops after loading up everything up. The install was straightforward and fairly easy, outside of one bolt breaking when I removed rear bump stops. Have had on for couple days and air holds nicely. Side benefit, the rear of my 60 sat about 3/4 of inch lower then front. So I have been running just enough air to get it to sit level.
Both knuckle rebuilds complete, new bearings and wheel bearings the whole lot. New disk brakes installed, new brake calipers too, with steel braied brake lines, new brake booster and master cyclinder (installing clutch salve tomorrow). Will do rear brakes next, it's been a busy few weeks ! She's ready for a long long journey !

That silver thing with the red disc on the back next to the fuse box … air compressor? What am I looking at???
Been having hard starts on cold mornings with the Sniper. When it would fire up it would idle at just over 300 which isn't enough for the alternator to make enough volts to keep it running. A new battery again, seems I just replaced it but checking the records that was 2020. Then I noticed the IAC was idling at 100% and not not reaching the 750 rpm it's supposed to. I worked on getting that set but it refused to hold anywhere near the parameters. I suspect I may have RF interference and I got a flicker on the vacuum gauge that may be contributing to the inconsistency too. The good news is that it runs pretty well even up over 12,000 ft. I noticed my MPG has been about 11 or less but the AFR has been reading lean. So I went hunting and found this
That soot indicates a rich condition and was the leak introducing O² to the sensor creating said rich condition. It had a loose bolt. I got the idle AIC close but it still wonders. I had a spare head that I had rebuilt last winter and now I have the gaskets and Deso spark plugs from Cruiser Outfitters also new cap, rotor and plug wires from O'Reilly's (HEI: 1980 Chevy truck, 250) and will be ready to swap in the new head over Christmas. Hopefully..

Yes, Extreme Aire compressor.
I’ve got front and rear ARB Lockers. The compressor fills a five gallon tank that lives under the frame rails. I also have onboard air. You can see the connector for that in this pic near the top.

I’ve had a “popping” noise in my front end for several years. Assumed it was from my SOR springs being a little rusty after my house fire.
I replaced the tie rod ends recently and that tightened things up some but the popping was still there.
Upon further inspection, I could see the spring shackle bushings were shot.
These had been on my 60 for about 12-13 years. They were from SOR to go along with the SOR springs and stick shackles.
Replaced the bushings while leaving the springs on the vehicle.
Rides great once again!

I put some stop leak in mine, because the heater core started leaking again. 
I've already replaced it once, but at the time nobody had new ones and I had gotten a used one as a gift with some other parts.
Anyway, it really sucked the first time, and it's quite cold, so I'm hoping the stop leak will buy me some time so I can find a new one, and replace it in the spring.
This morning there was still coolant in the radiator, and no steam on the windshield after a 45 minute drive to work. Here's hoping!
I've already replaced it once, but at the time nobody had new ones and I had gotten a used one as a gift with some other parts.
Anyway, it really sucked the first time, and it's quite cold, so I'm hoping the stop leak will buy me some time so I can find a new one, and replace it in the spring.

Looks like those leaf hangers are on the brink of snapping. Might be time to get those re-welded.
In the middle of Trail Taylor C-channel replacements, getting ready to put things back together and noticed an oddity.... I'm pretty sure I know the answer but asking anyway:
Shackle plates are different sizes:
This is an OME lift, and one side of the front corresponds to the smaller plates, the other with the bigger plates..... guessing someone didn't pay attention initially and mixed things up. Anyone know if the smaller/shorter/thinner plates would be front or real... or ARE they side specific?
