@timmbuck2 Nice pickup! I was third in line for that truck and had my fingers crossed you would bail out :flipoff2:

I was in line for that one too. A lot of us were haha. Interested to see if that’s as nice of a truck as the photos showed it to be.

Not all over the weekend, but all completed since I brought it home over Thanksgiving.

Swapped out the worn out visors for 70 series visors. I did this on my last 62 and it made a huge difference. I also got a new battery, terminals, radiator cap, washer fluid reservoir cap, and windshield wiper base covers.

Visors look nice! Are the upgrades the same size? Same material? Plastic?
thank you!

My original ones were more of a felt-like cloth. These are made of a vinyl material. You have to take the arms off of your original ones and swap out the arms it comes with. I can share more pics and part numbers is you want.

My 70 Series visors match the headliner in my 1982 60 perfectly. Both are a dimpled vinyl … it almost seems like a vinyl-impregnated fabric to be honest. I think the visor and/or headliner material changed at some point, maybe 1985.

For those of you who have replaced the carpet on our 60s, did you have to remove any parts of the lower HVAC system to remove the original carpet? It seems like the carpet was bolted through when the lower HVAC pipes were secured and I've had to try cutting them out.

Will I have to remove anything under the dash to put the new carpet in? I was hoping it would just slide underneath it all.

It's been 15 years but if I remember correctly, once I pulled the side kick plates, shifter boots and console out which were all installed on top of the carpet, it pulled right out. I don't remember any issue under the dash and I can't remember if I had to unbolt the seats or not. I replaced my carpet with black diamond plate neoprene and made it a user friendly install.

When I did my 60 series the only thing you remove is the bottom section of the A/C. It is just two screws one in front and one on the drivers side. It does make it easier to install that section wit out that piece.
Once removed there is a bracket where you will have to make a slit on the carpet for it lay flat.
When you put that piece back on it is a little thought being the carpet added just a little height to it. Otherwise you are good.
