A couple of months ago my 60 died, at night in the rain. I limped it home and I began the diagnosis (which I don't do very well.) A good friend and I rebult the carb. No change. (As I attempted to back out of the driveway I lost all of my brakes. More on this later.) I then replaced the orginal fuel pump with a new one, no change. My friend suggested spraying the base of the card with starter fluid. The engine reved with each blast of the spray. We removed the carb and saw the gasket between the bottom spacer and the manifold was torn. We replaced all of the gaskets. That fixed the fuel issue. I'm back on the road again.

While I was waiting for the carb rebuild kit I found the issue with my brakes. There was a hole in my brake line. I removed about 18 inches of the brake line and spliced in the repair. I have checked the spliced section several times to check for leaks. All is good.

Now I need to go camping.

Pulled the both the gear selector lever and transfer case levers in preparation for finishing my carpet install. Will upload everything once completed. Tons of lessons learned that will hopefully help you guys in the future.
Please do, I have my carpet on order from.Dnp and will tackle this project this winter

Had to order some JIS bits to get the screws out but finally got my shaky powered mirrors off and put on a set of manual side mirrors as well as upgrading my wiring with Fourrunners heavy duty cables. As everyone else states after upgrading the wires it now cranks with a purpose. Still needing to get around to having my DIY rear 4x4 labs bumper welded up.

Nice upgrade and I did the same! One thought, I put the fusible link on the rear terminal bolt so it didn't have tension on the wires. Where did you bolt your negitive ground, at the motor mount or the A/C bracket?

We sell OEM filters for like $10 🤷
And you could support a Relic Run sponsor :)

Did a quick valve adjustment on New Years Eve, loaded up the pooch and the lady, then got the heck out of the city for a few nights. Absolutely perfect desert winter weather, 75* during the day. Saw a Puma (first one in AZ over 20 years living here). Inevitable pinstriping, which looked kinda cool under my red headlamp.

Did you tighten the nut holding your fusible link to the positive terminal? 👀😁
