Finally got around to painting it. Welded both wheel arches and a couple small patch panels a few years ago.

Sanding and prepping for paint is a ton of work. Actual base coat, clear coat doesn't take too long.

Went with Toyota 861 light blue metallic.

Finally got the rear quarters painted and rear cross member that was crusty and rusty cut out. (No photos of that) / ordered some 70 series mirrors, 70 series sun visors, 4 runner wipers from CruiserMatt and new rear side maker light. Just needing to get ready for a weld together 4x4 labs rear bumper and try to source some inner rocker panels. I have the outer portion from Wolf Steel, does anyone have any sources on a good set of inner rockers or have most fabricated something up!

Had this custom exhaust system installed with high flow cats. Sounds and runs better.
Joe! How is the h55f swap running? 😁 You should have called us, we are just finishing up prototyping a FJ62 stainless exhaust kit!

Found some armrests that are very similar to the Onestone Armrests, but these only cost 78.00 for both drivers and passenger sides, shipping included. They are listed for 70 series. It did take a little over a month to receive but for that price I took a shot.
They have three strong magnets and under the armrest is a metal bracket that slips between chrome and window felt. I shut the doors hard several times and didn’t budge. I didn’t have to do any modification for them to fit. Will put link after pictures for anyone who wants to possibly save a few bucks.View attachment 3775289View attachment 3775290.View attachment 3775299

Washed it. Just over 20 years ago I bought this FJ60 to be used as a field vehicle and that's been its life for the past two decades. I don't think it's actually been washed in the last 5 years, maybe more, mud and dirt hosed off, yes, but not scrubbed with soap. In preparation to reseal the gutters of the roof I washed it taking off a light growth of black mold and the mud-dirt-sand-dust-pollen patina from travels in Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, North Carolina, Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Kentucky, Illinois, and Missouri.

What do you drive in winter that's better than your Cruisers??

Ha ah! Excellent question!

I live in Québec where there's more salt on the roads than in Ramen soup! It's a reasonable choice to put my Landcruisers away to spare them. Especially since one is antique and the other well-equipped for expedition.

That considerably extend their life and maintain their value.

As for your question, I drive a ... Camry 2000  that cost me $0 (heritage of my deceased father). The perfect winter beater and utiltime taxi pack.

Installed a set of Baja Designs wide/cornering lights in the vacant turn signal holes in the ARB. I wanted to mount them inset into the bumper to give some protection. Test fit showed that the light housing is just a little large to fit into the hole. I could enlarge the hole but did not want to go that route so I installed from the inside. The hole has a small in-turned lip and I set the light housing flush with that. I had to remove a portion of one of the tabs to set the light against one side of the hole.

I was reminded by @Godwin ’s post of the Baja lights (which turned out great!) about my solution to filling the turn signal holes on ARB bumpers. I thought I’d share (again) for the newer folks.

I bought a small sheet of 3/16” Lexan at Lowe’s and some stainless hardware. Cut to size and test for. Then sanded the edges smooth and roughed up the exterior for paint.

Coated with Krylon Fusion (satin black was a great match).

I set the depth of the plastic piece simply by cutting some fuel hose to the desired length.

The project was under $25. No modifications to the bumper and they’ve held up great!

I do the same, 60 put away for winter. I used NH Oil on the undercarriage, indoors in the hood, etc. to protect my 200. It’s my emergency car . 2005 tundra for winter. The salt will destroy your car in NW Montana.

Edit: NVM google says it’s literally a brand of undercoating product, my bad!

If you don’t mind me asking, what’s NH oil? In the last decade we’ve started using Calcium Chloride in Alaska (even as a dust palliative in the summer) it’s really taking a toll on undercarriages!
