Replaced the front seats this weekend.
Front seats from a 2005 pt cruiser. I had read up on threads for this mod. Clearly I don't follow instructions very well because it did not work for me the way the threads said. Ultimately I just made a simple redneck bracket and attached the toyo runners. Comfort is improved.

@JayDoc How is the sound deadening? Big improvement? I am looking at doing similar in my 60, would you recommend?

Hard to say as I don't have it all put back together yet. I trust that once I get the carpet in and the back seat and put some gear in my cargo area that it will be quieter. I went back and forth in the threads on whether it's worth it. Just inherently, these truck are never going to button up like a lexus so no matter what you do noise will be an issue. So I guess what I'm saying is that it was worth the $60 to amazon to see if it was worth it. I can update when she's put back together. I'm currently waiting on paint.

The Wife, pup, and I loaded up "The Beast" for its maiden camping trip and I suppose I would call it a... half success?
We got about 20-30 min outside of town on our way to Gallagher Canyon and she overheated something fierce (boiling)
after pulling out the battery powered fan and putting in some new coolant, we decided to head back for home.

after about 15 minutes, the temps seemed fine so we called an audible and headed to Fort Kearney SRA just a few minutes from town and camped there.

looking back, I never thought to check the coolant and there's a small leak from the water pump so that's likely the cause. I went ahead and ordered a new water pump, Tstat, rad cap, and fan clutch just to rule everything out. this truck hasn't gotten much love in the 30 years before I owned it so i'm not surprised.

hopefully in the next few weekends we can make it back out and try again!

I love this. At some point you gotta say "I bought the truck for adventures... time to have an adventure" and pretty much expect something to go wrong. You roll with the punches, learn about yourself and the car, and come home with a new story to tell. That's what it's all about.

That's more or less what my thought process was. Thankfully my wife is super supportive and the sentimentality for this truck actually comes from her side (she learned to drive with it) so she was game to limp it along and not give up on the weekend. Glad we did it!

Cool, that was my thinking as well. Mine isn't apart yet, so feedback when you get it would be great

Yah gots the right POOCH for that rig !!!!!!

(yeah any pooch will do, but cattle dogs rock ...!!! )
he's great but MAN does he have a lot of energy. i mean we knew he would, but he gets two good walks every day along with tons of fetch and he's still bouncing off the walls. He's about a year and a half old, so we're hoping he'll take 10% off the top in the coming years

Good to know.
I was going to wear a bag on my head after seeing your repair. Mine didn’t look anywhere close to that quality 😀
I know about the "bag-on-the-head" deal - when my wife and I lived in New Orleans in the late '70s and early '80s Saints tickets were pretty easy to come by, and for good reason.

Took the last week off of work, and with the help of a couple of buddies, we towed LANDY home from the shop, replaced the radiator with a 4core and associated hoses, rebuilt the birfields with parts from Valley Hybrid, did a front end brake job, broke lots of bolts, replaced lots of lenses, painted lots of parts and polished lots of chrome.

I also got to hear her first start up with out starter fluid, and driver her for the VERY first time!
Cool Cruisers of Texas came through in a pinch with a ton of parts just 30 mins from the time I called till they were ready for pick up by a friend passing through the area.

Thanks Alex (aer0397) and Jared for kicking butt this week, while I juggled parenting and wrenching.
