Changed the oil and took the family and family adventure machine out to pumpkin patch for a beautiful Fall afternoon!

Will do Dave. The service manual and a few threads on MUD have been my guides the last few times I’ve done this.
Nice, this is how I plan to rebuild mine as well. Should be fun, picked up a new 20 ton press (Harbor Freight special) this past weekend.
I have a spare split case that I will be rebuilding so my rig will not be out of action.

Next time we head up into the mountains it'll be in the '86 FJ60 :).

My ol' stompin' grounds. Makes me miss the Caldera. Heres a picture of me driving in the Caldera before it was a national park:

Let “Burt the Cruiser” go to a car show. He’s mostly a daily driver but brought him out just for fun (after sticking a more period correct but not really accurate single DIN Toyota radio in the dash).
The folks had either never seen (or hadn’t seen in a long time)an old cruiser and Burt took home 1st in Factory Original Class.
Now back to real kayaking g adventures with a mordern radio.

WOW that is super cool bud. Congrats.

All you guys with your awesome weekends and awesome cruisers make me jealous. I had to start the process of replacing the water pump on the FJ62. Which in my case meant about 2-3 hours or wrenching and about 3 days of cleaning. I swear I love my truck but I think I am the only one who ever has. I can't believe people ever let expensive trucks like these get into disrepair...I also can't believe people like me buy them anyway.
