What did you do with your 60 this weekend?

Build thread? Curious to see his method. I'll need to trim/sculpt the back side a bit to make it fit nicely and then adjust centering for the steering. Current plans are to use the 80 steering wheel as well. I'll need to look at the firewall in more depth for all new fittings and holes and possible re-routing for the 80 series AC, heater, gauges, vent tube, etc..

hey how did your 60 do pulling the trailer in the west Texas heat? I know all about that went to univ in Abilene.
Hey, I'm about 35 miles from there. you should stop by if you have an opportunity. would be
very nice. Going to Boerne in a couple weeks maybe I'll see your 60 buzzing around!
Man that's too close to not stop by and hang out some. Especially if you have the time. Beorne is only 30ish miles from me.

I coulda staged it better but headed to my friends house to go paddle boarding for my first time. I was ready to offer to load up the boards when I remembered she simply walks thru her neighbors yard and puts in off their dock. Brackish water not quite at the mouth of Long Island Sound (CT) up Jordan Cove into Jordan River. First picture you can just catch sight of water through the bridge to the left. Tons of Cormorants, Blue Heron, White Egrets, King Fishers and even spotted a Green Heron. Bummed I’d left the phone in the truck as I figured I’d spend more time in the water than on the board. Clearly not taking the phone was my luck because I didn’t fall once.
After I stopped on the way home for some young Chicken of the Woods mushroom growing on a chunk of wood by the side of the road. It’ll be me and my sons first taste. We’ve been learning to I.D. local mushroom and so far have tried chanterelles and black trumpets.
Truck is running great. Fun to be on the road again and catching sight of folks gawking. Friend who had helped me put the head back on last year spotted me driving through the town next door and sent me a text, ‘nice to see the truck rolling through!’

Old pic of something I did over a weekend. I stare at this picture constantly and can’t decide what to do next honestly. Besides H55 and 62 dash swap, I’m not entirely sure. Motor change will happen one day but not while it’s my daily.

Some days I think SOA and 35s to do more of the aggressive trails without as much fear of body damage then other days I figure wait it out for a 40 series to do more wheeling.

I wouldn't change a thing bud. truck looks great. I do have an H55 in my 62 but it's pricey for the change. maybe a rear locker? that's probably my next one.

Oh that’s nice!

Thank you.

Gorgeous!! What's the price point?

I'll know in a couple of weeks. I finally have all the files where I want them and bend allowances set up. So when I get time I'll make one from start to finish and see what I have tied up in time.

Yeah I was gonna fab a stock bumper to center mount a winch but this is nice!
Finally something that’s not overkill. Is it aluminum or steel?

I wanted something clean and a little more modern. I think it looks great personally. This one is steel but, I plan to make an aluminum version as well. (REAR TOO!!!)

Oh yeah!!! Beautiful.

Appreciate that!
