I started her up and drove up and down the street with a grin on my face.

What I'm getting at is did any of them turn when you torqued them. Strictly curiosity. I have seen a few "debates" on the topic of torquing them here. I haven't touched mine in ~15k miles, but used a Fel-Pro gasket. They did not call for retorquing. I should check my valves soon, and will probably check torque on the head bolts then as well..

Ah ok... yeah actually all of them moved. They all moved the 1/8 turn or so fairly easily, still have a decent POP when they threads broke loose but was easier than I expected. Retorqued to just under maximum, ~94ft/lbs and everything has been good.

Drug home this orphaned (no, really, his caretaker died unexpectedly) FJ40.

Missed ONSC Relic Run - so changed diff fluid

Was home bound with new baby so missed the ONSC Relic Run his weekend which looked epic! @FJinTegaCay did an awesome job organizing it and I was really bummed I missed it.

So needed a cruiser fix I could do withing arms length of my kids, so decided to drain and fill my diff fluid on my fj60 for the first time since owning it, at apx 240k miles. Don't fret, I bought it at 239k and change about 4-5 years ago.

The fluid that came out was pretty dark as compared to the new fluid. Might be the placebo effect but seems to run smoother.

The front diff took forever to fill caus I was using gravity. The rear went quick with the help of a $7 pump from HF.

I had to take a run back to Napa for more oil. Not sure why I bought hat big hub of sae90 a few yes ago. Maybe for the tcase/trans? Either way I need to get rid of it since it's only gl-1.

Have had high idle issues (usually around 1500rpm) since the day I bought my 62 last year. Last week I tested the ISC valve since it's easier than removing TB and TPS but that didn't do anything so this weekend I:
pic 1/4: Removed throttle body, cleaned that sucker good, removed/adjusted TPS,

pic 3/4: found what a dash pot is, then found out mine is missing it's filter and cap.

pic 4/4: any way to clean inside here? where the TB attaches...didn't wan't to just spray TB cleaner all in there so wiped what I could around the edge with some paper towels and left it alone.

All that crud (residual from the EGR) in the manifold is normal for a stock 1-3K mile 3FE. If you have the upper manifold off for whatever reason you can poke around the inside with a dental pick for many hours like I did or you can have it hot tanked (recommend).
All that dirt takes up some serious manifod real estate! Might make a few horsepower..
