Tried to take the fzj75 to the bike trails yesterday. Made it 2 miles and my fuel pump stopped dead. Rode my bike home grabbed some tools and was able to hotwire the fuel pump to get home. Always keep a bike in the back!

Today I dug into and finally fully removed the miles of wiring from a long defunct, poorly installed aftermarket security system that was at fault.

Luckily not many factory wires were cut, just spliced into. There is a special place in hell for shops that install these systems. This one was had cutouts for both spark and fuel. I had to remove a similar one in my 83 300d earlier this year.

Rattle-can painted my new tire carrier

and added that red doohickey to the Hi-Lift jack handle as my old one was sun-rotted after years on the roof rack of our 80.

Finally had enough with the leaky ARB compressor
Took it out, cleaned the canister and the o-ring, replaced the leaky quick connector for for tire inflation, and the 5mm quick connectors for the front and rear lockers.
Now it holds air for several minutes before it has to boost pressure again.

Now I need to replace the air filter to intake manifold flex hose.
I am a bit embarrassed to install a chainese part on this samurai (warrior, not the vehicle;))...but it will probably hold up until I get my OEM part on my next parts order.

After fixing the 73 compressor, I immediately went and did the same for the kids disco 1, which had the same issues, plus found an NOS 12 volt ARB valve to replace the leaking front industrial valve which the PO installed.

Got the old gal out for a drive after being stored all winter. Went around the block a couple times And parked out front for an hour. I came back to this.

The radiator top tank is leaking. Looks like I'm going to get dirty Sunday. There is a LOT of stuff around the radiator in a 13BT

Initially, I simply thought someone had parked a Land Rover in the same spot before you. 😁

Too bad it's a coolant leak. If it was a wiring problem, I already have a bottle of Lucas replacement harness smoke on the shelf.

It's labor day long weekend in Germany.
Took the Cruiser out on a camping trip into the Ardennes, 🇧🇪. For you state side: That's the area of the 'WW II battle of the bulge'.
Lots of memorials here. Basically every village has a US tank or armored vehicle as a monument on the marketplace.

Concerning the landscape: Great, but most non tarmac forest roads are closed to public traffic. Europe, you know.

I am getting ready for a long weekend of bodywork and hopefully paint. Down both sides is it for now. Later will be new oem flares and new rear doors with removable frames.

What colour you going for? Mine is getting new paint as soon as I catch up the 60 stuff. I'm going forest type green.
Can't stand whatever colour this my pukey factory colour is.

It is 6M1 Dark Emerald.
Just finished spraying. Came out pretty well for not having a booth. I had it in front of the powder coat booth for airflow, which helps a little. I put some runs in the clear (like always, lol) but it is pretty good. I did 4 coats so I can do a cut and buff on it too. The pictures aren't so great compared to how it looks in person
