I painted the back half and blended into the doors. Then clear coated the whole side. That way I should get good color match over the hood. I got really nice new-used rear doors with removable tops from @joekatana when I bought the truck from him. I still have to paint those and the factory flares. I guess I could do the flares in black, but I think they would look cool in the same green, so probably doing that.

Pulled her out of the shop to do some maintenance on the tractor.

You’ll have to shoot some pics in the sun after it’s all set up and dry. Nice choice!!

the missing knobs of the clinometer was an important point in my to-do list and finally managed to take care of it.

it is crazy how you can get these parts from amayama or other sites for 1-2 usd, while people are selling aftermarket products on ebay for 20 usd. yes, 20 usd for a 1 cm knob !

It is 6M1 Dark Emerald.
Just finished spraying. Came out pretty well for not having a booth. I had it in front of the powder coat booth for airflow, which helps a little. I put some runs in the clear (like always, lol) but it is pretty good. I did 4 coats so I can do a cut and buff on it too. The pictures aren't so great compared to how it looks in person

My 80 series I had was that colour 👍

Nice rig…..tell me from “across the pond”, how do you folks insure vehicles with the bull bars on the front….as here in the UK they either won’t insure with the attached or hike the price up to some extreme price of prohibited cost?
Canada has obscure laws about headlight height above ground. Headlights must 'function' with no criteria about 'where they point'.
I asked. Heavy bumpers are not limited to any degree here in Canada nor in the USA.
I sent you a pm. Not the place to rant about laws here.

Front axle in and on. I couldn’t fathom out why the U bolts were not protruding more through the base plate.
There are two lengths it seems. 200mm and 210. It would also seem I have one more leaf in the spring set up than standard. I can only think that the nuts securing the base plates were standard nuts and not the tall flange type used.
To add more quandary there seems a spacer plate is missing ( even when I look at the pre dismantling photos).
This spaces the nut and bolt through the middle of the springs avoiding interference with the transaxle and base plate so they sit flat. It seemed ok without.
So I’ve just machined a cap head bolt to fit , and no interference. It all now slots into place.
Having measured the axle distance to the front chassis bar, there is 1mm difference…..I’m happy with that!

Leaking radiator pulled. It took about 2 1/2 slow-paced hours.
I nicked the lower valance when the radiator shifted on me as I was lowering it:doh:
That's the only scratch in the truck.

Finally got it out and camped with it after the pop-top install last fall. I slept in it last fall with the dog, but this was the first time with my wife (and dog). Just three days, two nights, but it worked out well. She likes it, says the mattress is comfortable (wife not dog). We had some friends join us and all four of us were able to hang out inside during a thunderstorm Saturday afternoon.

The space all you guys have is quite enviable. Forests, deserts, etc etc
There’s so few places in Blighty to roam free, too crowded, owned by someone etc etc. Perhaps in my next life!

True, but you can drive to Denmark and the entire Scandinavian back country is yours, or take the ferry to
Iceland where you can drive from Europe to North America. I could spend some time on your side.

Buttoned up my last two projects then gave her a quick wash yesterday.

Cooling refresh: New Terrain Tamer AL radiator, top tank temp sensor, yellow dot fan, 1HD shroud, new T-stat and hoses/clamps
PS refresh: New gearbox, hard/soft tube assy, pump, reservoir, hoses, clamps, nuts/bolts

PS fill/bleed was great fun. Ended up spraying the area with ATF when my janky bleed bottle overflowed.

Several test drives with no leaks. Hope I didn't jinx myself but, installed new aprons on both sides to end my day.

Onto the remote transmission cooler project. Found a spot to mount it and sourced all the crap I need for that.
