correct it has aftermarket AC. and now they are telling me no OEM parts come with it which has me a little suprised. I got some videos of the underside; no rust. but yes I'm thinking of waiting for the 79. Although I've only seen one 79 for sale in the USA and it's $50k!Calls it a HZ instead of a FJ, maybe a simple mistake but…what else is wrong with it? No heat looks like but AC? Looks like original paint so that’s good for checking for rust. Probably worth spending the time money to check it out in person or get someone you trust to check it out. I would personally wait for a 79 now that they can be imported now. The extra cab room would be greatly appreciated
30 seems reasonable, I would really want the OEM parts as the value of repair parts is going up and he may have stuff carbureted specific that you will have to wait weeks to get. No dealer in The us will have parts for that rig except the standard 1fz parts.
That’s what I get for assuming! Thanks for the correction. That’s incorrect. Most 7x series parts are available through normal US supply chain with HS-7 documentation.
Hmm I’m getting completely opposite advice here now haha. The owner has now said no parts come with it. So I think it’s still priced a little highI owned that truck - it was great. Not perfect by any means, and that flaking paint is unfortunate but not surprising given the general quality of the Saudi repaints. I paid more than $30k and then bought most of the extra parts. He paid a pretty penny for it and then did the custom interior (love it or hate it, it's new). At $30K, I'd buy it back (with the parts stash).
I’m gonna say that starts with the 1999 model year, with the switch to the 79 series, but I’m no expertI was under the impression that any 1998+ was a 5 lug and coil spring, but I am often wrong.
That's right. I was confusing 97 and 99.I’m gonna say that starts with the 1999 model year, with the switch to the 79 series, but I’m no expert![]()
what would be a good price for it ?That spare tire location…
Shag Astro turf for a bed liner?
$30k is a lot for a leaf sprung carbureted work truck that is pushing 30yrs old. It is one of the last years of removable top & folding windshield though.
Cheers
