Coatings and extensive wire brush work is awesome, but including a "rust converter" prior to any other coating will really help seap into cracks/spot welds and convert surface rust to a sealed paintable surface that won't bubble back out. Especially places you can't reach well with the wire wheel.-R.Turned to the wheel housing.
The original coating became bridle after 30 years and had partially vanished. The PO had the housings sprayed with the body paint but that's not sufficient.
Removed the old junk with angle grinder and wire brush and applied first layer Brantho rust protection coating. Will do 4 layers and finish with undercoating.
