Decided it was time to replace the gear lube in the transfercase and transmission for the 93 PZJ75. Draining and filling the transfercase was not difficult, but when I tried to remove the fill hex plug for the transmission; I found that someone had buggered up the facets for the plug. This required tapping a socket onto the hex plug and used a small section of pipe to provide leverage. Once the plug was removed I found that someone had overfilled the transmission. I used a file to cleanup the facets of the hex plug. Should be much easier the next time to lube requires replacing.

Temporarily have the Auber in. It's going probably under a stereo...or in a gauge pod, not sure. They don't photograph well in light, but very easy to read, way easier than the clock, which for some reason is way easier to read in this photo.

I had to reprogram the boost as it was reading off, but now it's displaying correctly.

Flat ground, 3,400' elevation, 80° F
65mph = 800F EGT
75mph = 1000F EGT

I will get the boost later now that I don't have to do math.

Does becoming a member of the Troopy club count as doing something on your Troopy? Cool new truck arrived today....1FZ-F LHD 5 speed AC truck. Tired. Very very tired but not a lick of rust.....all that matters to me.

Very cool! What year? Love the roof rack and wing. =)

Man, it took me some time to find my Troopy out of Oman. You must have some good contacts.

With it coming from Oman... and having non-original paint... I'm betting you're gonna find a ton of bondo. Mine came with no rust as well, but it's body was well tired and the areas of newer paint were only hiding dents and warps.

Congrats!

It's a 92. And yeah...the wing is SWEET. It probably won't stay though...

I had the seller go over it with a magnet on FaceTime with me.....no areas that were questionable. He removed all the inner panels...the insides are clean. The body work is really crappy though. The driver's lower door is questionable.....probably has some bondo. Roof is good. The hood reinforcement is separated from the hood....that was kind of weird I thought. Everything else is good.

I bet I could do a week or so of blocking the truck, prime it and it would be good. It's not very far off.

I have the option of buying 2 other ones coming out of Kuwait....3F trucks. Nice(well....nice in pics) paint. Good rigs. I wanted this one because of the 1FZ and the 5 speed.

Sweet, you knew what to look for. Hope I didn’t seem like I was raining on your parade. Great snag on the 1FZ! The one thing about my Troopy I’m bummed about. Looking forward to what you do with it.

No rain on this parade.....I knew what I was getting into. I've been spoiled by these take-off 79 bodies...I KNEW I wasn't getting one of those. Lol. But this one is workable.....I just didn't want rust. The truck starts right up, brakes well. Steering and suspension will get redone so no worries there. Interior is gross. Lol. What's really cool is that it moves out with that 1FZ and the manual. Like shockingly quick. Maybe loaded down and in a high elevation it won't be so quick but it feels really good. Really quiet too....can barely tell it's running. Neat truck. Wish they had left it white though...

I’ve seen some very questionable Troopy’s here in the UAE and in Oman. Bodywork isn’t very high on the priority list for lots of these guys and they tent to run them in to the ground.

I can always keep my eyes open for anything here in the UAE. Have some good mechanics who can also give a once over if there’s ever anything that people want to ship out Stateside.

Several days ago I had the original radiator for my 93 PZJ75 repaired for the third time; this morning after going out for a drive I found another of the tubes wheeping. Time to purchase a new radiator.
The local radiator warehouse doesn't have anything in stock and they are not sure when they will have stock. I did a search on ToyoDIY for the replacement radiator part number; according to PartSouq and Amayama the part has been superseded from 16400-17070 to 16400-17080.
I drove about 30 km to the local Toyota dealership and had them research the part; the parts guy said there is a 25 day wait and the part is P76,500 (approx $1500).
Since PartSouq is in the UAE and Amayama is in Japan; I contacted Amayama online. The price including shipping to the PI is $642.
I placed an order; the projected delivery date is 1st week in July.

Yeah, I don't like darker colors on Troopys.
Probably going back to factory white with mine, 70s look great in the white with black accent combo.

Otherwise, looks good!

The dark colors don't look right at all on these trucks....agree 100%. If I get my way(I usually do), I will be doing a super smooth LineX Ultra coating or if I can spray it properly, Raptor(going to test out how smooth I can get Raptor this weekend I think). Something light but not white. I think most of the shoddy body work would be hidden under LineX. At least I'm hoping.

Locally (Philippines) I looked into getting Line X done for the bed on my 93 PZJ75; the only rep for Line X wants $900.
Thats more than double the price I was quoted in the US.
I asked the rep if that was the price for Foreigners....; my sarcasm was not received well....

You need to get on this LineX project - I would love to see how it looks! Would you keep the same color?
Oops, didn’t read thoroughly enough. You are talking bed - I would really like to see how a whole truck looks.
