They were about 200psi lower than minimum spec. Very problematic. Glad to have them back in spec.

You just reminded me I need to do that. What shop did you use and what was the approximate cost if you don't mind sharing?

We need a thread titled "how bad a shop can be" (in my case, a shop whose name starts with P and ends with S).
I could write a novel. My novel would be titled.... "You Won't Believe This Sh*t".

I'm assuming they "built" this rig? Did you buy direct from them and when? What are some of the things you are trying to fix that are beyond shady.

@lazylfarm ..... "I'm assuming they "built" this rig?"

Perhaps "built" is the wrong word. "Loosely assembled" might be more appropriate. :)

Got the Troopy running and drivable again just in time for our monthly Lone Star Cruiser meeting , still have to finish the interior and fix some minor stuff.

What are the odds another Mud member decides to bring his troopy also

@joekatana

How would you compare driving a troopy to like a BJ74/73 middy and also a SWB 70? Just curious

Massive turning radius since they are so long.

Hard to see out of them.

That has been my experience behind the wheel of a Troopy.

Cheers

I will never daily drive a 70/71 on leaf springs because the ride is way to stiff but they are pretty agile and wanted by farmers and hunters in Europe .

Best platform for daily driving and all around use for me is the 73 and the kzj73 would be my first choice as alroundef and the HZJ73 for travels and exploration.

The troopy if loaded a bit in the back gives you the most comfortable ride off the 70’s and you can’t beat that huge space that can be used for almost anything , turning radios is indeed longer then the swb’s but it is still way better then any domestic pu.

They are all the best and the worst at something and you need to figure out what works best for you , or keep a few around like I do ;)

What do you mean hard to see out of them ? There is literally an ocean of glass surrounding you

You sit low compared to the back side windows, lots of blind spots too.

Simply my experience from driving them with stock seats.

Perhaps others have had a different experience. I am 5ft11” and 175lbs.

Cheers

My experience parallels Joe's. I currently have two BJ71's and two Troopies, so I have a fair amount of experience driving both. Troopy has much better road manners than a shorty, but, of course, not as nimble on a trail. More of an expedition vehicle anyway, not meant to rock crawl.

Massive turning radius since they are so long.

Um...yeah, the turning radius is larger than a SWB 70, but it's still a shorter wheelbase, and more maneuverable than, say, a double cab Tacoma, of which there are millions plying the roads of America. It's pretty close to 4Runner size.

Hard to see out of them.

Don't get this at all. It's like driving a lighthouse--tall and all glass up high. 360 degree panoramic views. I'm more like 6' 4", so maybe it's just the little guys like Ian who have a hard time seeing out of Troopies. :p

Yup! :D

I'm only 5'7" so I probably can't see out of a Troopy at all ;) Sorry, not very helpful, I guess I should show photos of my booster seat to post in this thread.
