It was good to meet you guys too. I think an HJ-45 work party might be fun someday.....
Playing with Gene's harness has gotten me motivated to start looking at the hacked harness in my HJ, and the 95% clean harness out of a '78 FJ-40 I've got. When you're on a roll you know....
Well, just got home from the long, circuitous route back from the FJ-35LV work weekend (you know, the one that goes via Yosemite
) and I'll be off either tomorrow afternoon or Saturday to go lead two week long backpack trips before the airline gets their teeth back into me. I might even have to shave the mohawk by then
.
I'm waiting to see the schedule for August to see if I'll have time to rebuild the front axle and winch early in the month, or if I'll have to hightail it back from the 45 run to get it done afterwards. I'm hoping that our furloughs won't screw with my schedule too much and I can get those done early in the month. If that happens, then I probably just can't avoid tearing into the sheetmetal....
Eric, your build is wicked cool. Your 40 is way more "running" than my 45 is.
It has probably moved under it's own power within the past decade, right?
