Hell I'll trade, mine isn't black but it's already ruined painted.

Maybe we could do a trade? I just have this idea where blacking it out will make it look that much cooler, but I'm not sure.

id be up for it. ill shoot you a PM.

I really like the way mine turned out I bedlined the grill so it wouldn't chip as easily and maybe ad some structure to it, then I got some 62 mirrors from a buddy of mine. I also painted the Toyota badge (and then ended up breaking it) I've got 35s now and no front bumper because the stock one got bent up pretty good after my last wheeling excursion. I also got my windows tinted which made a HUGE difference in terms of heat and looks in my opinion

We'll, no major updates on Wampa.. She is at the shop and the front axle is torn apart. I bent the housing a while back. I need to straighten the housing out and truss it. Hopefully the knuckle bearings will get here soon so I can have it back together this weekend.

I'm thinking about taking my little PIAAs off my front bumper and replacing them with these. I scored them from another cruiser we bought a while back. They are freaking bright. I'm thinking I will use the PIAAs on the rear bumper.

I'm also thinking about hardwiring the rock lights. Anyone have the VisionX rock light kit that they hardwired? What am I going to need to do it right? I'm no electrician so any help would be appreciated.

The VisionX kit plugs into the cigarette lighter and has a wireless remote. I want to take the control box out and just have it on a toggle switch. I don't need them to flash crazy like they were designed to do with the control box.

Oh. they are just wired in a string, correct?

You got it, just cut the control box and cig lighter attachment off, you'll have two wires, one for power and one for ground. Wire them up to a switch just as you would any offroad lights.

Would it be best to use a fuse for power or just run it to the battery?

well with LEDs, I'd use a lower power fuse (im guessing there is a fuse in the control box somewhere)

Wire from battery to fuse, continue that wire to one pole on switch
At other pole on switch, run a wire to the power wire of the lights
Ground the lights wherever on chasis and turn the switch on. Lights.

Getting ready to drive her home in the next couple of days. Got the truss tacked on. Parts are here so it's all assembly now. Time for the messy part! I'm getting excited to drive her again.. It's been too long. I will get some pictures today when I'm at the shop.

Just got back from the shop. Got a good chunk of stuff done. All parts are cleaned and ready for final installation. I still need to finish fabricating the upper truss but I have the lower one all welded up and ready to be smoothed out. This is it just tacked up

I'm also looking at suggestions as to what air filter I should run. I will be installing the cold air intake this weekend and would like to find a good filter before then.
Thanks for reading.. Hopefully I will have some more exciting updates soon. It's almost spring break over here
