Well I got some stuff done today, bolted the transmission and bellhousing to the engine. And cleaned the bellhousing and tranny. Gonna clear the bellhousing and spray the tranny black tomorrow. Also started cleaning the tcase. A pressure washer with a 0° nozzle wouldn’t even clean it all, gonna have to wire wheel it tomorrow and clear it. Did discover “‘73 Landcruiser” written on the brake drum in yellow marker, I assume it came from a wrecking yard maybe, and ASCO stamped on the top of the case.

Dissasembled and case blasting in process. Hope to get the main case blasted tomorrow and everything painted.

Likely going to order some misc small parts and a new input main shaft as this one has some rust where the input seal rides. Guessing it held water while being stored outside for 9 years. i do not want this one to leak out of the input shaft cover and onto the clutch.

Not really wrenching but I did flex my turd polishing muscles to take the 55 from this:

Case painted and misc parts ordered. I'll wait a couple days for the Aplliance Epoxy paint (I love this stuff, it's great) to cure and parts to arrive. Wash the case with soap and water to remove any residual glass beads and then it's assembly time!

Well the drivetrain is assembled! It’ll take up residence on those tires until I come home from Clemson. We have a nice welder
but don’t have the experience to tackle those motor mounts yet. Hopefully my buddy who is a welder can help me out when I come home.

And we didn’t get the tcase perfect, but a lot cleaner than it was.

Everything went smoothly except the specs I found on mud for bolt lengths were incorrect to attach the tranny to tcase. 4/5 were long enough to hold it together while it chills on the tires, the other wasn’t even long enough to catch threads. This will be remedied easily enough with me just meausuring thread depth in the tranny and the thickness of the t-case and adding them together.

Looks awesome dude!!

Picked up a spare set of LS430 calipers to rebuild and then throw on mine with SS brake lines and new pads and rotors.

I'll rebuild my old ones as there is a bracket to put them and STI rotors on a celica.... will need bigger wheels for those first though.

Things are massive

Did a little parking lot wrenching last night, I fixed my power steering leak at 10PM in the Ashley Furniture store parking lot.

I’ve been told it’s a homemade T-Case saver. I can’t see it doing any harm so it’s gonna stay.
