I need a few cans of that too

I know someone that was thanking science for AC yesterday.

Hit 115 at my brothers with a heat index of 123.

Ahh the desert, I still miss it.

Been turning wrenches to tear the old Ford apart. Nearly there now.

After having my seatbelt buckle literally pull out of the seat while driving down the street this past week. Got a new captive nut welded in by @joyRidaz and bolted the seat back in. Turns out a po stripped the threads out bc it’s an 11mm fine thread bolt and I assume he couldn’t find one so jammed what he could in there.

Then installed a hoist thanks to @FJinTegaCay for the inspiration and showing me the ropes. Next weekend gonna try and remove the hardtop.

I’m thinking of grabbing one too. I already have one for the bikes but was using a crappy pully and hand winch method for the top.

What is your plan for connecting from winch to top?

I use a D-ring and seatbelt material. I’m inspired to take the top off again this year.

Basically what @FJinTegaCay said.

I’ve got some extra ratchet straps so I’m thinking linking those in an x and a D-ring attached to the hook. Once it’s up there I'm aiming to add some more support and redundancy via straps and eyebolts in the corners so I'm not relying on the hoist to bear the weight all summer long. Will repor back in next week

Started to get some belt squelch on start up..... new tensioner fixed that..... not hard just lots and lots of bolts. Having airtools back after 8 years made it fast though.

What didnt make it fast wast one of the friggen plastic nipples snapping off from the intake tried JB weld plastic a few times before moving up to quick steel plastic and making a cone around it.

Also changed out spark plugs to smooth out a rough idle.

Yota has changed the tensioner design to a bigger spring so hopefully it will outlive the truck now.

So I’ve been driving the 80 around without caster correction for sometime now and I think it’s time I address it.

Am I correct in thinking that caster is just the way the axle is rotated?
Is there a way to measure the caster so I know how much to fix?
I was going to do the caster correction like @lumbee1 with the welded tabs, but I’m starting to not feel that ambitious and am thinking about buying plates.

Also, will fixing caster help with the play in my steering? It had zero play and handled great before the lift and after the lift (3.5”) my steering has play and she’s a beast to keep on line,
@40LandCruising
Installed the Landtank 2.5” plates. Install was straightforward. The plates solved my wandering issue. Truck feels much more confident in the corners. The steering self-centers as it should. It feels like stock.

Finally found a silver PS mirror to replace the one that got hit some time back. I had found a few but most were beat up.and people wanted almost as much as they are new.

Over the last few months the key has been getting harder and harder to turn pulled it today and took it to a locksmith. Had then cut a new key from the vinyl also. $35 it's like butter. Dealer wanted $300 for a key and something like $400 for the ignition... and that was their marked down price to "help me out"

Got my new fender installed yesterday. Big thanks to @AJR for the matching fender. It went on easily besides having to beat the inner fender into submission. It came out pretty good. I got all but one bolt into the inner fender, it’ll be fine. Just have to remove the pinstripe and remove the fender flare hunk and it’ll be perfect.
