I can afford to do it twice at that price lol. Just kidding. I think there is some gamble involved, but at the end of the day, for a weekend warrier, overland type I bet these would serve you well. Very tempted to pull the trigger at that price.

Are all these gears produced in the same place? You can bet that if TG is selling it, it came out of China or India or Bangladesh or anywhere but the good ole USA! Has anyone verified exactly where the Marlin version of this gear set comes from? I would sooner pay the higher price for USA made gears if I have the choice. These aren't cup holder fellas.

Read the rest of the thread. You are correct except that none of the options are made in 'merika.

The trail gear gears are indeed manufactured in China. Marlins in Japan. Which quality wise means nothing until we see or hear of people actually getting their hands on them and using them, which I have seen no reviews of personally.

No doubt, Marlin gears are tried and tested and proven to be an excellent option.

Trail gears are not. That doesnt mean they are going to automatically grenade your tcase though.

Manufactued in China alone will be enough to deter some people from purchasing, however, IMO, its not an automatic death sentance in their quality, but does make it questionable until we see some actual use.

Has anyone here actually had their hands on these yet!?

Good points. Take one for the team and install a set of these TG gears, go beat the snot out of them and report back. Problem is I want mine before you have time to test a set for long enough to sell me on them. Chinese and Japanese don't mix well anyway. :D

just pulled the trigger on a set. I'm a sucker for cheap chinese crap. I'm going to drop the t case with my vortec swap, so I'll work on this on the bench. i wanted a marlin set, but they were out of stock until recently and the excitement kind of wore off. with the new 4l80e, I think this puts me just about back to stock if I remember correctly....

my 5.29's, TG front 3rd case and ARB air locker have held up fine thus far.... I know past performance is not a guarantee of future performance, but I'm rolling the dice. follow my slow vortec swap thread if interested. August should be about right when I get around to the gears....

at 299 i will bite. dont really need them here as there isnt much crawling but why not.

I pulled the trigger although I won't be installing them anytime soon. At $299 shipped I won't even think twice about it. If the price is right and it works, I don't care what brand it is or where it came from. I know there's lots of folks who pride themselves and paying a big markup for a name or the experience, not me.

With that said, if the gears fail (although I have no reason to think they would) I won't hesitate to tell you how my foot tastes :flipoff2:

Well I pulled the trigger too. Ordered today from trail gear Canada. It will be a couple months before I will get them installed as I am still in the midst of a diesel conversion.

I have been on the fence on these gears for years. Well this made me jump off. Hope to get them installed eventually. Probably will do the same time as when I send my 3rd members to zuk to put in 4.88's. Anyone have any recc's on where the cheapest place to get a gear complete package is?

Wasn't trail gear a spin off of allpro? People went their own ways?

That's the way I understood it...somebody that was working at allpro left and took the designs and outsourced the products for cheaper and became TG.

no shocker on where I stand on this. :meh:

You in kahootz with TG and are going to rebrand them as Wit's End chinesium alloy?:D

Thanks China!
