I just picked up a 67 FJ45 this past weekend. It runs like a top! Excellent sheet metal just a good base to build off of. My plans are to do a SOA,chevy V8,Lc 4speed and t case,Corbeaus, chevy tilt steering column, saginaw conversion, and various newer upgrades. With that said I will be getting rid of the motor, tranny and tcase and various other odds and ends. Here is some pics of the 45 and what i am wanting to transplant into it. All comments and suggestions are welcome!!!

Hope you enjoy :hillbilly:

Tell me it's not matching numbers..

looks to me like you have a donor.. Luke's hysteer arms, extended shock towers, axles, bilstein shocks, tcase nose cone strengthener, serpentine belts, fuel injection etc. You should be done in a week or so. Sell the old parts to the purist and enjoy your truck. If you managed to keep the firewall out of the old ride you might change out parts to get the boosted brake pedal stuff.

say it aint so......

Im gonna butcher it!

Shes not a matching number truck. Kinda pieced together with some very good parts. I always wanted a hell raising 45 truck. So far this is my third 45 truck and hopefully I will keep it!! Might have a buyer on the stock motor and as soon as it goes I will start the process! My shop is packed now with both of these vehicles in it now! Space is at a premium!

Should look similar to mine. 4" Alcans, 4-Wheel discs, 350 V8. T400 trans. Ididit tilt column.

Here's mine, SOA, 2F, FJ60 axles, FJ60 front springs (puts the axle forward a bit), FJ60 4spd and transfercase...

What tire are you going to run, those swamper? I ran Q78s for a while, they're great and stuffed inside the wheel well, but developed a death wobble and I had to get radials. I have 37" MTRs now, about the same height as the swampers, but wider and they'll rub every now and then.

I never get tired of looking at your rig Mike. I sure wish I could fit in an FJ45 pickup. If I could, I'd own one and it would look a helluva lot like yours - except with a white roof:D.

These swampers are hell when they are cold! I will probably go with an MTR. Bias ply swampers are just rough!

Some progress

Well I have got a little bit done to the 45. The motor and tranny are gone and I started stripping the front frame. Next the cab will come off hopefully tonight. Some pics of progress.

I do have to say I hate to see an antique repurposed with all these mods but at the same time the idea and finished product are something pretty nice also. I guess both have their places.
