Crazy but 100 series parts are being discontinued too. You would think Toyota would keep making them awhile longer since the last year of this model is only 8/9yrs old now.

Cheers

Correct.

Stuff for LC's are going to disappear quick in my honest opinion. The move towards the TGNA is going to necessitate a restructuring of the entire Toyota spare parts supply lines worldwide.

Bummer.

All 80 series 3F-E and 1FZ-FE engine ECU's are now discontinued from Toyota.

Keep those ECU's safe if you have spares. They are now worth their weight in gold.

Hi Onur, I think I might have found a part # resource highlighting what's discontinued: toyotapartsdeal.com

1997 Toyota Land Cruiser Electronic Fuel Injection System lists
89661-60652 as not discontinued while the other ECU's are indeed stated discontinued. Can you verify if perhaps the discontinued is actually live or just well-known discontinued parts for a few items listed? My assumption this would tie into the parts system as it also lists 100 series discontinued parts.

My understanding- @beno @cruiserdan correct me if I am wrong, is that sites like that will say they are available and take your money. Then they go to a dealer like beno or cdan and order it, only to find out it's Disco-city, whereupon they will then refund you stating they are NLA. Sites like that are just a nicely packaged middleman....

I was picking all of the parts off of a 91 80 at the junkyard today. All the switches, visors, ECU, AFM (or MAF can't remember what it's called), igniter, battery tray, dome lights, trim pieces, and a bunch of other stuff I can't remember. Anyway, it had cruise control. I thought to myself about snagging it. The throttle cables looked "newer" as they weren't cracked. Then I decided against it because the throttle cable is discontinued. Thanks to this thread I will continue not having cruise control in my 80 and not worrying about that part being discontinued.

Pretty much.

Only 8 years and the carnage begins.

It didn't use to be like that.

The only way to own a reliable (fixable) Toyota nowadays is to buy it new with a 5 year extended warranty and sell it after 4-1/2 years.

The era of driving 20 year old Toyotas is coming to an end fast.

Toyota will see to it.

If that is what toyota has planned, then there will come a day when I sell all of mine and never give them another dime. Hate to say it, but that stinks

If you want to drive your 80 for the next 20 years, I would suggest a parts car.

Or buy whatever new parts that is available as of now or snatch up good used parts and stock them =)

More out the door:

ABS rear sensors are all now discontinued from Toyota for the 1993-1994 versions.

04895-60020/60030/60040/60050

1995-1997 are still barely available.

Every time I see this thread on the first page of 80 Series tech, I get a little anxious. When I see @beno is the last poster, it's like opening a letter that you know is bad news :(

My garage is getting out of hand with random 80 series parts. I know I've got one rear ABS sensor hanging out somewhere, time to grab a few more.

Or, you get older, smarter, and buy a 100 series...

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Thanks. I needed a laugh. Long week at work. This cracked me up.

Front diff lock wire harness 93-94, Gone Johnson.

Rear diff lock harness for the same, four in the US.

back in the late 90s i walked into Toyota dealer and ordered the last fj55 front quarter panel from japan.

But even cooler on the oem parts front is- you can call Rolls Royce for any vehicle they ever made (110+ years old) and they will go pull the original tree slab from a warehouse and make any interior wood trim piece with the exact matching wood grain !!! Now that is f-ing crazy. talk about parts support......jeezus

That's awesome. And I bet it only would cost as much as a new 200 Series...

God damnit Onur! My stomach churns every time I see you posted on this thread!
