I have the rear axle of the Turdle all buttoned up. The broken diff pieces have been replaced, new diff gasket, fresh juice, new cylinders, shoes and hardware and new axle seals. Here's how it looks now. No more leaks!

I think your parking brake cable mount, which is in the up position, should be the other way. Bolt to the top of the cable.
10-4. I'm on it. I guess I had a brain fart and flipped it by mistake.

So it looks like the front seat headrest framing is the same as the rear frame? Simply cut out from old and weld into the back seat?
Pretty much, yeah. The front and rear frames are not identical though. The fronts are tubular and the rear is more of a sheet metal plate. I had to do some measuring and cutting on the front pieces to find the happy place to weld them into the back. They do fit in there though and function as intended. It is very doable. No mods needed on the rear seat frame. Just cut down the front sections. Slide them into the back. Clamp and weld.

Brakes are much better now despite having not done the drooley knuckles. Part of my issue was the need for a check valve in the vacuum line to the new 4Runner booster. Between that and just adjusting out the rear shoes, I have much better braking. I'm not completely satisfied but I'm getting there.

The Turdle got fresh knuckles over the holidays. My son, Nathan assisted me. I found all the bearings to be in good shape (but replaced them anyway) however, the inner seals were leaking very badly and the slurry of goo inside the knuckles and hubs was phenomenal. Hopefully these new seals will keep things clean going forward.

I have an iphone video of Nathan pulling the short side axle out but Mud does not recognize a .mov file. Not sure how to convert it. It was nice just sitting back and letting Nate do the grunt work. I'm definitely looking forward to more supervision and less actual work in the years to come!

What grey paint is that? Anything special or just gray spray paint?

I am attempting a desmog on the Turdle. There was an exhaust leak where the EGR tube meets up to the exhaust manifold which made an annoying ticking sound. Also, the truck was running lean and had a tendency to cut off at stoplights. I determined that there was a leak at the intake/exhaust gasket where it meets with the head. Having to pull the manifolds to fix these issues, it only made sense to go ahead and de-smog at the same time. I think it was a good decision. I doubt if I could have removed the EGR components without destroying them anyway. Here are a few pics of what I've done so far:
