12V outlets should go on the dash, under the dash, one in the engine bay, and at least one in the back of the truck, probably two

I got nothing for battery tray other than to say if I was designing one I'd make a double tray so I could put the two batteries and the controller all next to each other. If that fits in the factory location great, if not there is plenty of room in that engine bay for extra stuff. Landpimp made a double tray for his FJ40 out of two factory trays hacked up and then welded together.

I heard the http://www.stainlesstrays.com dude was in business again but the website doesn't work.

I just shot a text to Trollhole to see if he had any trays for sale.

I'll poke around on Sunday (Pig work day) and figure out exactly where the 12v outlets will go. Since I'm tight for time I ordered a bunch of 12V outlets - four singles, and a bank of 3. Inverter is going to wait to save a bit of $.

Was at GSMTR when you sent that. No battery trays. Sorry.

Could always design one and let the guys over at Leslie Sheetmetal make it for you. They are very reasonable.

I was gonna make a tray this week but decided to mount the battery behind the front seats near the fridge and all the extra DC outlets I'm installing. I've seen several write-ups on it in 80's - I think one was in TT not too long ago. I'm running out of time so that will have to work for the time being.

National Luna kit has arrived, along with a 3 and 4-bank of DC outlets. Battery and battery box are bought and at the house - and now I'm waiting on a 1500w inverter, a Blue Sea fuse box, and 4 separate marine-grade DC outlets. Monday is gonna be fun!

Got a little work done on the Pig last night. Was able to squeeze in about two hours - and they were actually productive.

I really wish my phone took better pics.

Trying to track down my fusible link - a bunch of wires come from my starter and alternator into the same bunch of wires wrapped in electrical tape. This wire comes out of the bunch and goes to my positive terminal. Is it a fusible link? Plain white wire...

Two more hinged doors installed - I cut off a corner so you would have a way to grab and open them without a traditional handle.

Same two doors from above with one opened. I cut the panel in half so if you were laying down in the back and needed to get into this area you could shift to one side and more easily gain access. Now I have to figure out how to secure them shut.

I'm going to build another hinged door on each side of the sleeping/storage platform similar to the ones above. It will go from the back of the vehicle to just rear of the speakers.

Here is where I am planning on mounting the secondary battery. Originally I wanted to put it in the engine bay but ran out of time to make another battery tray.

That white wire does indeed have a fusible link type appearance, being pretty thick and then having a connector right there so if it gets burned out it's easy to replace.

That's what I was thinking. I guess to be sure I would have to undue the all the wiring that is wrapped in electrical tape and trace it...not really psyched about that.

Yoop - do you recognize your old Pig anymore? Headliner, new windshield and rear cargo glass rubber is gonna be installed in a few weeks...

PS - didn't see you on the UP roster...

Got about an hour in last night.

Pic 1 = one of two side doors. I will install a support for these in the very back.

Pic 2 = doors lifted up. I wanted to use recessed hinges but am running out of time and $. I can always go back and redo these hinges by just pulling out the screws.

She's been unrecognizable to me for some time!

I'm not on the roster because I'm officially 'staff'. ;)

I'll be on the run almost for sure, almost for sure alone, and if so probably on two wheels.

Sweet! What type of bike? I tried to get the wife to let me buy a dual sport - that conversation ended poorly.

'06 Yamaha XT225. I've had it for two years. It's my commuter most days. I'll have it packed to the gills for the run if I bring it.

Date a :princess: with a sewing machine! :D

The :princess: doesn't sew, I might just run them up to the local seamstress shop (or whatever you call it) and see if they can make something. SOR sells replacements for around $50 or so, so make that $65 once I get them.

I'm also worried that my alt (possibly stock) is not pushing enough juice for all the accessories I want to run. I'm thinking of getting my current alt 'rewound' by a local shop - any suggestions?

I do not remember what you are running, maybe bump up to a 60 series alt w/ internal regulator?

That might be enough juice to run a sewing machine yourself, that way you can do a "field fix" of your visors. :D

Or you could buy the :princess: a sewing machine and tell her to get crackin'

I know, I am funny!
