Ugh....Package arrived yesterday, right water pump box, but wrong part inside.....packaged for return and dropped at FedEx....once they got the notice that FedEx had the return package, another part has already been sent. West Coast to East Coast shipping, 5 days.

I'm trying here.

That sucks, Rick!! The exact same thing happened to me when I bought a new water pump...

What a pain!

Purchased and received my new Airtex 9493 water pump last Friday. IMG_2388.JPG Installed it Friday night. IMG_2391.JPG IMG_2394.JPG

Filled it up with coolant Saturday, burped the system, drove it around.....parked it, and was happy to see no coolant on my basement floor.

Makes me feel good wrenching to keep up with maintenance on my rig. Heck if an Architect can do it, then........well, then I'm just plain happy! :)

Great job Rick!! Glad to see your rig is leak free once again!

Thanks Mike. I believe I've resolved the water pump issues. I can see why the Airtex 9493 water pump was advised. If you look at it's casting, verses the Aisin WPT-063, the Airtex body/housing is actually closer to the OEM design for the water pump with clutch fan and no oil cooler.

While my rig was down the last two weeks, I tended to the front and rear oil leaks as well. I removed the fly wheel inspection cover to reveal a small puddle of oil inside it, and oil leaking from the oil pan gasket area only. Thus I tightened up all the oil pan bolts about a 1/4 turn (+/-), starting from the center out to the edges in a crisscross pattern. Left the cover plate off, so I could keep an eye on it. This seemed to help, no oil in the front and only a trace at the rear while parked. I'll drive it a few days and recheck. I may have to go back in and re-torque them a small amount, per the directions from the builder and installer. Thanks for all the great advice!

Mine has developed a tiny oil leak in the same area, I'll have to tighten the pan bolts as well. I hate cork gaskets can't understand as to why they continue to use them, all my other vehicles use composite material and rubber gaskets with no leaking issues.

Good one, Johnny C! My office neighbors said they were happy to see it back in the lot.

Like the FedEx guy said when he delivered the package:
I said, "I sure hope this is the right part."
He asked, "For what?"
I said, "A water pump for my Toyota Land Cruiser. The package you delivered last week was the wrong part"
He said, "Man, is that your FJ40 that is usually parked outside?"
I said, "Yes it is."
He said, "That is so COOL! I want one, it looks GOOD!....Well, let's see if it is the right part."
I said "Ok....(opened the package and just smiled.) Yep, right part this time. You will see it here next week."
FedEx Guy, "Way cool, man!"

The pursuit of perfection. Love it Rick!!
Hey what did your guy charge you to widen stock wheels?
Are you happy with his work? I love the look.

Yes I'm happy with the work and really like the look.

PM sent for the contact info.

Just been driving my rig lately....but did clean my balls recently! Here have a look.

Thought I needed to possibly rebuild the knuckles, but now they look just fine to me.

However, I spray WD40 on all the body bolts, getting ready to install this:

Hey, where's the 'before' pics of your balls?
