I thought you might be going for more of the retro new look

For the above post, I went with the "Old School" Toyota OEM bumper, but opted for the new technology in the Warn Zeon 10. Oh, and threw in a Factor 55 - Prolink Safety Thimble while I was at it. Yea, I think I'm going to like this set up. :D

Not only did my rig get a chassis coating and a front end up-date, I also repainted my "battle ship" grey rear heater and gas separator cover as well with some Dupli-Color silver charcoal metallic.

Thanks for all the kind words. Being that I try to strike a balance in my life with everything I do, that sometimes spills over into my work and other details of my surroundings. My 40, although not a garage queen or a show winner, got hit with my symmetrical methodology. It's the "Feng Shui" or the 'Ying to the Yang" syndrome I have.....But it's me, and such is life. We are all different in this world and that is what makes us unique and just....well.....US. ;)

As for my 1977 working Warn 8274, it's future is not certain at this time. Although it is a work of art, it's best use is out in the real world pulling and working under duress with a load. I tend not to be a "Pack-Rat" so unless I find a reason to keep it, it will more than likely find a new loving home on the front of another Land Cruiser. :)

Thanks for Chung for the info on the Dupli-color Silver Charcoal Metallic....I had the Pewter, but I like the Silver Charcoal Metallic better. Neither of these two colors are a very close match to the Toyota Ash Grey Metallic. But my 40 isn't perfect by any means, so it wasn't a big deal. Here have a look:

Dupli-color Silver Charcoal Metallic....

Looks great...My ole' mule will never roll across "Barrett Jackson" either....The Zeon has excellent reviews and it looks like it was made for the front of your TLC.

Salute......

Your "symmetrical methodology" eh? I struggle with the same affliction all too often...

That looks fantastic. Wish I could find Dupli-color here. I've tried all manner of spray paints that I could find here in the UAE trying to get at list a bit close to the Toyota Ash Grey Metallic. I like your solution... or Chunga's solution... or whoever wants the credit.

Being the '77 OEM tool bag hold-down brackets, band and clip are not available from Toyota any more, what is one to do? Well, here is what I did for $25. Cleaned and installed a mini-tuck tool bag hold-down bracket, band and clip last night. It's not an OEM specific combination unit for a '77, but it is a Toyota OEM part. And it looks almost correct with the bag installed, but the discerning eye will think otherwise. Here, have a look. :hillbilly:

I actually received two sets for $25. And if I really wanted it to look a little more correct, I could cut both brackets and install per the original '77 design. Which was my original thought, thus the purchase of two brackets. But I like how the one unit looked and turned out, so I'll leave it for a while.

I got boneheaded-lucky and scored a correct set for mine - need to finish getting the tools and install it along with the starting handle I built and my jack rods . Only other oddball part is my brown 60 series jack but prices on the original yellow units for my year are sky-high .
Still working on those stupid starting handle clips , ggrrr...

My front drive shift boot (36318-60010) was in desperate need of being replaced. I purchased the OEM part, and with some directions from Mark Algazy, got it installed today.

Here is the proof:

Mark, Thanks again for the advice.

I finally received the brackets for the Power Steering heat shield. Being I'm using a mini truck P/S gear box, I had to do a little fabrication to make it all work. But I have it installed, see below.
